RTW,
Hope I'm next! Congratulations and please post results of your experience at the range with the R9S.

That's great news, I gues the new location is up and running.

Excellent!!!
Another in the fold.. 8)
Have fun with the new one.. :)

Congratulations! Don't forget the superlube and the Mobil1!
I'm sure you'll have a great time at the range, but you won't really appreciate what a marvel it is until you take it apart. That's when you realize that, as small as the gun is, it is made up of even smaller parts.

Mine was ordered last July also. I got the call two weeks ago. A local dealer is handling the xfer. Should be here next week.

Congratulations to you also, dmobrien2001, and welcome. Sounds like the new machinery at the factory is starting to hit stride.
Does anyone know if they still shipping the "farmingdale" slides that were manufactured at the original factory, or is there another name stamped on the slide?

Congratulations Dick, it sure is fun to fondle these new little gems!!! Wait until you are able to shoot it.. You have made a wise choice, welcome to the fold.. Jim ;)

>>This evening I got a call from Eric telling me my long awaited R9 will be shipped next week...this after a six month + wait. To say the least I'm tickled pink as I wasn't really expecting the gun until later in the month...seems someone else decided he couldn't deal with the R9 waiting period and cancelled his order literally at the last minute before it was to be shipped...bumped me back up on the list...! Lucky me... ;D...not so lucky for the guy lacking patience...if only he had waited a few days more... :(.
As I understand it this new gun will still have the slide marked "Farmingdale", but will have the new black grips. My plan is to prepare the new gun (#2) for regular carry, and I will then clean up and retire my #1 R9, with the blue grips, and bury it deep in my safe.
There are very few guns I keep two of...but my goal will be to eventually obtain two of every Rohrbaugh gun ever made. This way I can leave one of each to my two boys as I know they will treasure the Rohrbaugh guns as much as I do.
Man, I love these guns...!...TW<<

I just got in my March shipment of R9S'. The slides say Farmingdale with black carbon fiber grips. The blue carbon fiber grips are all gone, as I got in the last set for a lady customer who wanted the blue grips. She is very happy and has shot the gun and had a great time. She is working on her grip and getting use to shooting the pup. The guys on the March order are ready to get their guns. I don't want them to wait any longer, so they are getting them this week end. I'll tell everyone about the forum, hopefully they will report on their trips to the range. Tom

TW,
I'm the guy who cancelled the R9 and I did so after having asked Eric to give me an idea when the gun would have arrived. During this same interval, the Arkansas R9s showed up and I begged off because I put faith in Eric, which may be seen on the forum.
I am no better or worse than anyone else but talking to your customers is paramount and Eric never responded. You get the gun.
I was trying to leave the forum discretely and as a gentleman but I still get posts on my e-mail and I feel the need to respond to your post.
Consider yourself fortunate because Eric did one special thing with you which he completely ignored with me; he COMMUNICATED with you.
-
PCA, I'm so sorry, when I saw your post. We all knew that you were getting a pup soon because of the trade. So, what you are saying is, that you passed on one from Ark., because you had one coming in soon from Rohrbaugh? Then because Eric did not get back with you right away you passed on that one? So I guess you,at this point, don't have one period? In my phone calls to Rohrbaugh in the last 2 weeks, I have only talked with Eric once; the rest of the time Maria. Both were trying to get a handle on the amount of guns coming out of production. I was suprised when my order shipped this week instead of in the next 2 weeks. Please, send me a PM. Is there anything any of us can do to help? I wondered why your posts slowed down in the last couple of weeks. Regards, Tom

Tom,
PM sent and thank you for your concern.

It is my understanding that Eric is dealing with some issues and may be difficult to reach for a bit. The Rohrbaugh Firearms e-mail account is down for now too.
If anyone wants to reach the factory -- use the phone number. I will post more details in a separate thread when I can.
-
PCA - Let me get this straight. You cancelled your order because Eric didn't call you back? Would you have cancelled your Glock if Gaston didn't call you back? Just seems like your expectations were a little out of proportion to reality. I mean there are guys who have been waiting for months to get their R9.
Picked up my R9S today. It was ordered in July.
Sorry if this seems like a flame, but I just don't get that logic. It sounds a little too immature to me.
-
I know I couldn't wait for my R9, that's why I didn't order one from the factory. I called around and got lucky. My wait was a grand total of 15 days. That said, I did read this forum a lot and I know I read may of PCA's posts. His order was placed on November 8, so he has been waiting for several months.
There will be many points of view on this. I guess at some point, everyone runs out of patience for something, so PCA isn't any different than anyone else in that regard. On the other hand, it really isn't realistic to expect that Eric can be everywhere at once. Plus, PCA was quoted a 4-5 month delivery time, which would have put a delivery this month right on-time, or even early.
Clearly, the way this is unfolding is very unfortunate to all involved. At this rate, Eric will lose a customer, PCA won't get an R9, and we will lose a major contributor. Unfortunately, this may happen from time to time, so let's try to be gentlemen about it.
No flame or disrespect intended to anyone.

>>Wayne and Rocnerd both make good points. And as I recently stated on another thread - I think all of us have become more than a little spoiled with Eric's efforts via e-mail and phone to respond to everyone's beck and call = to keep us in the loop about our questions and purchases to the best of his abilities...WAAAY above the call of duty IMO.
I don't really understand what PCA keeps talking about in saying Eric refused to answer his calls and e-mail, as this is totally out of character for the Eric we all know via Rohrbaugh Firearms, and as the man I have come to know and count as a personal friend. In fact, Eric recently told me he has had conversations with PCA from the time of his original order back in November through after the point I swapped places with PCA in the R9 waiting line a couple weeks ago. So go figure...?...!...??
I also mentioned a while back how there was a lot going on in Eric's life just now and with the Rohrbaugh family in general. Point being that I felt we owed it to Eric and crew to give them some space and cut them some slack. Everyone here likes to be treated professionally and with courtesy - which almost everyone here will agree Eric goes overboard to do...maybe too much, as things are turning out. Don't we owe it to all the folks at Rohrbaugh Firearms to do the same...? I think so - very much...!!!!!!
In the days ahead you will be hearing from Duane about some changes going on at Rohrbaugh which will effect all of us. And before I finish saying what I'm getting at here I would ask y'all NOT to bombard Duane with calls and e-mail looking for details. Duane is still putting the pieces together and figuring a way to bring us all into the loop in a manner respectful of both Rohrbaugh Firearms and the folks here on the forum!!
In the meanwhile, and as Duane and I have both indicated on different threads of late, if you desire to place an order or check up on an existing one - please call the 800 number and speak with the very capable and lovely, Maria.
-
TW - Thanks for the update. Please post or PM if there is anything we can do.

.........AMEN

Friends,
I am closing this thread as I think it has out-lived its purpose.
Suffice to say that there is more going on here than any one of you know.
Also, please recall that PCA is a valued member of this forum who is clearly "one of us" -- except that he doesn't have his R-9 yet.
I suggest we let this resolve itself in due course, rather than adjudicating it here in the court of public opinion.
**CLOSED**
