...as I've sold my S&W 340PD snubby. :)
Next will be my P-3AT.
-
Frank,
I'm with you, I use my R9S as my primary carry weapon!! Jim
-
primary carry weapon? Not for me. It's the weapon that I carry when I'm "not carrying" -- if you know what I mean (when I can legally carry but AMLOST every possible concealed weapon would be noticed -- replacing my NAA Guardian and .38 snubbies which used to draw this assignment ... the former was underpowered for the assignment and the latter was sometimes oversized but the R9 is just right).
-
For some folks, like myself, carrying a full sized gun on a daily basis is simply not a viable option. If I can't carry something really small and ultra concealable, I probably won't carry at all.
So, assuming I like it, the Rohrbaugh will become my primary carry weapon when I get it.
-
So far it's been about my "50% carry" pistol. When I can conceal something bigger, my .45 P245 or Colt Commander goes with me.
But about half the time it's the R9 in my pocket. As the weather gets cooler it'll likely see less duty (easier to conceal something bigger). When summer rolls back around, I'll likely have the R9 with me most of the time...
-
Mine will be replacing my Kimber Ultra CDP, - I just couldn't conceal it well.
I try not to think too much about the difference in the size of the .45 230 and the 9mm 115. :-/
-
Mine ultimately replaced my Kimber Ultra RCP II..........although I still hated parting with it. I just could no longer justify keeping it since it just sat in the safe after the arrival of my R9S.
-
I feel your pain, Sharp! I have two Ultra Kimbers (an UCII and
an Ultra CDP, which I just got) and they are sitting around,
staring at the safe walls.
As they say (I'd like to meet "They" sometime;^), the best gun
is the one you have with you when you need it. The R9 is that
gun.
BTW, that Coronado leather vest I mentioned in my last post
on the SHOT Shot would be quite heavy if I did indeed carry
two pistols in it. Imagine the vest itself at 2.5 pounds, plus
the R9, an extra mag, and the Ultra CDP. Suddenly I weigh a
whole bunch more. I think I'll tell him I'm wearing 30 pounds
of clothes!

I will continue to use My Glock 36 until I get my R9 for carry. By carry, I mean inside my house as that is the only place you can legally carry in my state.
-
Its pretty bad, when one needs to "carry" when going from the bedroom to the kitchen!!!? I thank God every day that I live in the southwest. Its like a whole different country here in Texas. Tom
-
Tom,
It's pretty bad when you live in the #1 anti gun state in the union. All I can say is Count Your Blessings, which you seem to have done.
-
Its Like the cart before the horse, I glad you got your holster from RJ. You just have to take what you can get. They will make a nice pair soon. Tom
-
I live in Texas and carry almost every waking minute. I've had to draw, but not fire, on two occasions. Both were situations that should have been "safe". Perhaps I'm paranoid, but when the TV has news about home invasions and the like, I don't want to be a statistic. I have enough choices in caliber and carry methods, I never have to go without. I wonder what the neighbors would say if they knew that when I was mowing the lawn in shorts and t-shirt, I was also concealed carrying?
-
Its the only safe way! Its always wise to give yourself an option. Now days bad guys kill for the fun of it. It also pays to keep your doors locked, even when home. I'm from Dallas; where do you hail from? Tom
-
I live just south of Dallas in Red Oak. I moved here to get away from the city and now the city is coming to me. More home construction all the time.
-
doctordun, in addition to my ccw, I also augment my home security with a couple of dogs (man's other best friend).
The re-assembly and lube techniques are a little more straight-forward. ;D
Granted ... these are probably illegal in NJ as well (sorry for you PCA).
Cheers!

(hoping Tom can deliver new R9s in April?) :D
-
A friend of mine lived in Red Oak and did his shooting off the back deck;until the city came! Tom
-
That is why God made silencers. (assuming you can safely catch the projectile)
Of course, I have not yet seen a R9 with a threaded barrel ...
-
ezeg, Please send me a PM. Thanks, Tom

NJ? IL? HW?

Oh, I just saw in another thread, NJ. Sorry to hear that :'(
I hope you guys join us in America some day, but I'm not too optomistic.
