Well, it finally happened...
I saw my first "gunshow" R-9 at the Suncoast Gun Show in Tampa this weekend. It was dark framed with the black carbon fiber grips and the "Farmingdale" label.
This was a HUGE dealer out of Orlando that has nearly every gun known to man in stock and at the show -- but only one R-9! Of course, the asking price was $1,129! :o
-
At that price I bet it was still there at the end of the show too.
-
I also was at that show and enquired about that gun. I freaked at the price and I asked him what the deal was as the factory list price was 889.00. He told me he would give me me a grand if I could find one. So I told him I would pass. I have had mine on order since November so I guess I will just wait it out.
-
Darn Rooster, I had one in my car! You could have shown him mine and we split the $1,000! ;D
I sometimes get good deals from that guy -- when I can stand his obnoxious demeanor. His booth is certainly a good way to see any type of handgun you want to put your hands on and inspect!
-
The guy is a jerk, but nobody at the show had the amount of guns that he stocks. As a matter of fact when he showed me the r9 I had just purchased a sig 239 in 9mm from him. Where are you located in Tampa? Do you shoot any IPSC? I will be going to Frostproof this coming Sunday for a match.
-
I work in downtown Tampa and live in Clearwater. I shoot IPSC club matches in St. Petersburg on Tuesday nights. PM or e-mail me for more info -- love to see you there.

I finally saw a Rohrbaugh in a "no-name" 2005 gun buying annual at the Publix (you gotta look at something when you're waiting for your prescription). It indicated both a 9mm and a 380 version "in a choice of finishes".
-
I wonder where they got that info? ???
-
I'll get more details on the magazine and post them later in the week. Shopping at Publix isn't always a pleasure . . . ;D
