I finally received my R9S after ordering it back in October. Interesting that the serial number is R25x.
I had handled one before, so no surprise as to the fit & finish. I'm really looking forward to taking it to the range, but won't be able to do it until next week.
How many rounds should I put through it before I consider it broken in and reliable for carry? Not too many I hope.
Now I just need a holster. Is RJ taking orders again?

Congratulations! Let us know your impressions from the first range session. I'm betting that you're going to love it.
RJ may check in, but if he misses this thread send him a PM.

Two observations I'd like to mention.
1) I field stripped the gun today and it was surprisingly easy! I'd been expecting a real nightmare based on all the posts I'd read about how difficult it was but I found it to be easier to disassemble and reassemble than my Kahr K9 or even my 1911's. No problem at all. That's a real relief.
2) It was very clean and well lubed as it came from the factory, so I didn't bother to clean it. I just added a tiny bit more grease, which wasn't really needed, but I tend to err on the side of over lubing my guns. Maybe I will clean and re-lube it before I shoot it, but if I don't get the chance, it won't matter.
I like what I see so far...

Congratulations on your new pistol, harrydog. Glad to see you were able to get the Hedley holster, too. It's a perfect combination.
It was good to see your favorable report about re-assembly. Mine will be getting a workout this weekend and come apart for the first time.
