Hello,
My name is Mickey.I am a Sergeant on a Sheriff's department.I am fortunate enough to be a member of a FBI Task Force, and , an instructor at two local Police Academies. My hobbies include the Martial Arts, and Knifemaking.
Thanks to another formite,(George), I purchased a Rohrbaugh Pistol. This afternoon, I fired 120 rounds through the Pistol.Even without sites, I was amazed at it's accuracy. The recoil was negligable.I shot Blazer's, Gold Dots, and Hydrashoks. This gun prefer's the Gold Dots.
The gun had a few burps, but, I shot the 120 rds. fairly fast, causing it to heat up quicker than normal.I also had two failures to chamber. These were caused by me.They occurred when I purposely held the Pistol in as weak a grip as I could in order to try to induce a failure.Even with a grip only strong enough to hold the gun, it still took 6 rds. to cause the first jam.
i am a big advocate of the Seecamp line of Pistols.Since these designs share several similarities, field stripping and reassembly were not a problem.
I am impressed with the overall functioning of the gun.The Rohrbaugh, like the Seecamp, was designed to be carried, and, to reliabily fire a magazine load of rounds when needed. The workmanship, inside and out, is quite impressive.

Mickey, welcome to the forum. I pretty new around here myself. Purchased my R9 last weekend. Went to the range the other day and for the most part had very few problems. However, as I reported in my range report I had 5 failure to feed after about 50 rounds fired. I am unsure of the cause. I did not intend that to occur as you did so I am uncertain of cause. It happened with winchester white box. gold dots and blazers. Possibly the slide motion slowed due to dirt and gunk build up. I will go back to the range this week and try it again. I want to start to carry this pistol but want to be certain of its ability to function without problem. I am also inpressed by its fit and finish, it is a quality piece but I guess that should be expected of a $1k pistol.

Mickey:
Welcome to the Forum! I have heard many good things about you and the superb custom-made knives you produce. Any friend of George's has a guaranteed front-row seat at this campfire.

Hi Mickey and a big Welcome!
I also followed George's lead and have had a superb sample of your craftsmanship for sometime.
I wish that the arthritis in my right hand would allow me to cycle that number of rounds in a setting. What is weird is that when I'm getting tuned up for hunting season, I will routinely run 50 rounds of 475 Linebaugh or 454 Casull through a Freedom Arms # 83 followed by 20 to 25 rounds through a T/C Encore in 338-06 JDJ. Yet 40 to 50 in the R9s is about max.
Glad to have another happy guy about!

Hi Mickey,
George raves so much about your knives that I feel I already know you. Welcome aboard.

We are quite a tight band of brothers here! :)

Welcome Mickey - you make a nice knife. I am also a Seecamp fan - own three but all 32s.

Hi Mickey, Welcome to the forum. Its a great gun and the Seecamp as well. I've sold Seecamps for years and am a Rohrbaugh dealer as well. It is super that you had a good range session. I'm behind the curve on your knives. Would like to see them, give me a link on those babies. Thanks, Tom
