Do any of you folks that have a R9 happen to also have a Colt pony 380??
I would like to know how they compare.. They seem as they could be very close in size.
Colt Tried to make the pony in 9mm in 1997/98 and they did although after aprox. 2500 rds parts started to break so they beefed it up a bit and came out with the Colt pocketnine which was the same size as the walther ppk.

I think the pony is quite a bit larger -- most definitely heavier at 13 ounces.

The Colt pony 380 is pretty small, are you thinking about the colt pocketnine?
The pony pocketlite weights in at 12.5 0z the R9 is 12.3??
I will have my R9 thursday so I will be able to compare, but I am thinking they are about the same.

I used to own a Colt .380 Pony Pocketlite. The R-9 is smaller, about as light and shots the full powered 9mm. I'd much rather have the R-9 with me if I needed to defend myself or my loved ones. The Colt is a real nice pistol, but if I carry a .380 I go with one of my Kel Tec P3-ATs.

I have the Colt Pony, Pocket Nine, and R9S. The Colt DA triggers are very hard in the Pony & Pocket Nine, both are fine guns. I like the Pocket Nine alot and it is accurate and fun to shoot but does not conceal as well as the R9.
