Title: teflon coating on frame?
Post by: lexasgs400 on November 16, 2005, 09:07:42 PM
Could we put a teflon coating on the frame where it is wearing?
If not teflon I have a good relationship with the guys at Polydyn and they have some very good coating products.

I this will help the problem I would send mmy gun as a sample

I'd be interested to see if Teflon would help in that very heavily loaded area.  After seeing the same wear on my R9 from the first shooting session, I worked in Brownell's Action Magic.  That lasted less than twenty rounds.

The good news: After 200 rounds the scuffing had stabilized.  At 350 rounds, the frame looks the same as it did at 200.  And smoother to the touch.  I can't feel any roughness with my 'educated' thumbnail.

Mine got worn in within 200 rounds or so, and has not changed since then (just over 550 rounds) either.
