Title: Stealth, Am I the first?
Post by: riffraff on August 31, 2006, 06:37:50 PM: Hello everyone,

I had my name on the waiting list for a standard R9S but lo and behold they called and said they did not have any new standard R9S's in but they got some of the new Stealth R9S's.

Am I the first non FFL holder to actually own one and have it in my home?

Total price with 1 extra mag and all taxes was $1075.60. Ouch! Oh well I wanted 2 and now I got 2 so I will have to just slowly pay off the crecit card.

I didn't really want a stealth but I got to thinking if I am going to have 2 R9S's, it would be best if they did not look identical.

The finish is smoother than the frame finish on my standard R9S. The magazine, magazine release, grip screws, trigger, recoil spring guide rod, barrel, ejector, extractor and hammer are of the standard finish of the regular R9S. There is quite a difference in the feel of the G10 grips on the stealth and the carbon fiber grips on my standard R9S. The G10 grips are more of a matte finish than the carbon fiber grips but it is no big deal to me as both grips appear to have the same dimensions. I have not disassembled it yet for cleaning before the first range visit. I will do that later tonight. Oh yes, all the markings on the gun, grips and magazine are identical to my regular R9S.

Post by: ROKTMAN on September 03, 2006, 07:48:31 PM: I had the choice of a Stealth @ $975.00 on FR or a standard on $899.00.Ijust started looking for one on MO as I figured they were impossible to get.

FR I got the call that one of each were available and a standard will be in my hands Tu morning by 10:30.It was a toss up between the Stealth and the standard one. :) :)

The Irish Guard(Tom? correct) is an FFL and I think still has both R9's in stock now. Contact him and I am sure he will ship to your favorite local FFL holder.
