I just picked up my new R9s (serial 1748) yesterday. Haven't had range time to fire it, yet. Before I do, what advice can anyone offer a newbie about breaking the gun in?
The gun is clearly a work of art. It's extremely well made, the fit and finish are like on my Audi A4. The slide works very smoothly and the trigger pull is steady all the way to break. My dealer remarked on how smooth the gun operated dry. I really can't wait to shoot this little treasure!

Mike:
Welcome to the club of R9 owners. My only suggestions for your first range session would be that you review Chris's FAQ Site ( http://www.acbsystems.com/boards/rohrbaugh/index.htm ), load the pistol with a brand of ammunition which it is has been shown to prefer, make certain that it is well lubricated, maintain a firm grip while shooting it, and enjoy!

I've read here some shooters have taken the pistol to the range straight out of the box and had no trouble. May I assume factory lubrication is adequate for the first 25-50 rounds?

Mike:
It was for me. It will have been test fired before leaving the factory. Even so, it might not hurt to give it a spray or or two of good quality lubricant (I use Ballistol) along the slide-to-frame area and then wipe it down before putting it through its paces for the first time.
Good shooting!

Thanks to all who read or replied to my newbie questions. I'll report back later with my first range report.
