Hi there, ladies and gentlemen. :)
I'm looking for a deep cover carry gun. Someone pointed out to me today that it sounds like I mean I'm the one in deep cover. :P

I've just heard a couple of rave reviews from acquaintances about the R9s, so I'm investigating.

So. Not a spammer. And off now to read posts.

Welcome.  I agree with what Tom ("theirishguard") has said, and I will also recommend something which he would be too modest to suggest. When you purchase your R9, you should purchase it through him. If you do not reside in Texas, your local FFL can coordinate the purchase with Tom.

the C.S.it is second to none that saying a lot today.The info you
you receive the board ranks right up there too.The pup is very
easy to hide an carry every day like I do, an what more can you say about a CCW.

I have no recoil questions as those will be answered in a shooting session with some kind acquaintances who have offered to let me try theirs.

How reliable is the Rohrbaugh, in your experience? Do most people experience some hiccups, or is that now rare?

Does the Rohrbaugh prefer or abhor a particular type of ammo?

Is the price range really $940-$1000? The ideal gun for my immediate needs would come in under or close to the $400 mark, though in the misty future I'd be happy to spend more.

OC:

1. The recoil of the R9 is stout but entirely manageable if you maintain a firm grip.

2. My early R9, No. 132, has yet to "hiccup."

3. I feed my R9 Speer Gold Dots (115 and 124 grain) and Remington Golden Sabers (147 grain).  

4. The lowest price I've yet seen for one of the R9s (slightly used) was around $850.
