Well after carrying it for a month and a half I finally took my Rohrbaugh down to the gun range. It's a fairly early model, a sighted R9 and a Farmingdale gun. Good thing I did because I've been carrying a derringer around. In fact I haven't been carrying chambered so it probably would have been useless.
Started out with a mag of 124gr. Gold Dots. Every round failed to feed. Went to another mag loaded with 115gr. Winchester Whitebox and same story. Also had some problems chambering rounds a couple times, the rounds hung up when I would rack the slide. Happened with both the Gold Dots and the WWB. Needless to say I was starting to get very angry. Things got better towards the end though.
I shot another clip of Gold Dots and a couple more of WWB. All in all I probably shot about 5 mags worth. The last magazine of WWB shot without any problems. While shooting I checked the casings and all primers hits seemed to be deep and centered. So no problems with ignition. Accuracy was as good as can be expected from such a gun.
I'll be giving Rohrbaugh a call for some new magazine springs fairly soon and we'll see how things go from there.
I shot my Kahr and BHP a bit to let the frustration wear off. :)

There is one thing you may want to take into consideration. The R-9 is a gun with very tite tolerences. When you carry any thing in your pocket for 6 weeks, even in a holster, you are bound to pick up a little dirt & dust. If you did not fire your gun before hand, it had zero break in. Also most guns fresh from the factory tend to be oiled a little more then what is really necessary for usual needs. I tend to experiment with my guns by test firing after different amounts of carry time. I have carried a Seecamp for a few years and the only time it ever failed was when I had carried it for 2 months whitout cleaning. I always shoot a mag. through it after a month now and never have problems. I intend to do the same thing with my Rohrbaugh. I think you are doing the right thing to replace your mag. springs, but give it a god cleaning and try again. I bet you will have better results. It is a damn fine gun. Good luck and happy shooting.

Don't let it get you down. I'll just about bet the problem lies in the weaker mag springs, that's where my feeding issues were corrected with the stronger springs. When your gun is up and runn'n it's the slickest ccw around bar none.
Also don't forget the tighter the grip on the gun when shooting the better. I read it here somewhere that shooting this gun will correct unconscious limp wristing. I know that when I shoot my R9, I conscously grip the gun much more firmer than when I shot my PM9.

Any gun that won't work after you leave it laying around isn't a very good gun. I suspect the problem is just the weak original magazine springs and the tightness of a new gun. I've seen plenty of guns that were jammamatics when they were new only to become good ones. We'll see.

Got off the phone with the nice lady at Rohrbaugh. New magazine springs will be on the way shortly. I hope this fixes the FTF, I suspect it will, since things seemed to loosen up a bit the last mag I shot. Hopefully I will have an update sometime next week after they arrive.
On a side note, Winchester Whitebox 115gr. is the perfect practice ammo for this gun, it seems to emulate the recoil of 124gr. Gold Dots pretty well.

Received the replacement springs today. They are much better. Will try to get an update in here soon.

Took it out earlier today, fired one magazine of Gold Dots and two magazines of Winchester Whitebox. Function was flawless. It appears it was the magazine springs as I suspected.
