Title: Thinking of giving in/finish questions
Post by: PlayboyPenguin on July 13, 2007, 08:32:14 PM
Hello, I am new here. Although some of you might know me from other gun boards.

Ok, I said not to long ago I had bought my last handgun. Now I am thinking of buying one of the Rohrbaugh R9 pistols.

I see pictures of them with grip frames in a light grey finish but I have only seen them with a dark grey/black finish. I must prefer the more monotone look of the gun with the light grey grip frame.

My question is...Are they still available with the light grey grip frame? Is there a special code to order them that way?  ???

Hey PlayboyPengun,

You talking about the "grips" or "the frame" color. The grips have changed but... if I'm not mistaken, the frame color has not changed. Could be the lighting in the photos make the frame appear to be lighter or darker.

By the way...Give In!! You'll be glad you did.

I am talking about the frame itself.

I have seen the light grey frame in person at a gun show but the ones at my local dealers are all black frames

I bought my R9s a couple of weeks ago and it has the black frame with a serial #21xx.
The gun dealer also had a new R9S for sale with a serial number in the 100's. It may have the lighter frame. Also has the carbon fiber grips but does not have the newer mag. and recoil springs. If your interested I would be happy to contact him, see if the gun is still available and ask about the frame color.

What is the difference in the mag and springs?

Springs are a little stronger. Go to "Gunsmithing and modification for your Rohrbaugh" first topic "chrome silicon spring update kit" page 3 and read WS6 post. Will give you good information.

CN03,

Thanks for the info on the springs.

I would love to find one of the lighter colored ones. I am afraid the darker frame would show wear to badly.

Is the one your dealer has a NIB one?

I believe he retained it as his personal gun, sat in his safe and never shot it.
