Has anyone had any difficulty with 147 gr. ammo in the R9?
I'm almost afraid to try these heavy bullets in such a tempermental gun.
-
They will tumble! Use 124gr. or 115gr. GDHP for best results!
-
I've used the 147-grain Golden Sabers in my R9 with no problems. However, I usually stay with the 124-grain Gold Dots.
-
I agree, the heavier end of the bullet will probably tumble.
I use 124gr. Gold Dots myself. 115gr WWB for practice.

I use the 124 gr Gold Dot. Tom

I use 147 grain SXTs And also Golden sabres without issue

I used 147 gr. hyrdashocks, but have since switched to 115 gold dots -- I'm not sure, but I might have seen some tumbling from the hydrashocks

I shot 2 and a half magazines of Ranger 147gr today. They fed fine and the holes in the target were nice and clean. The heaview rounds produce less recoil and the Ranger 147gr penetrates as well as many other +P rounds.

Has anyone tried the Federal 9BP Classic load?
