I'm mainly wondering what the weight will be, what material it will be made from and most of all if it's going to be pocketable? ;D

If it isn't pocketable, there really isn't much point to it, is there? I too am very curious to read the details on the R45. Unfortunately, I'm sure we won't hear much about it until after the SHOT show next year (January?).

I shot an AMT .45 Backup a few years back and though the reliability suffered with this particular specimen, it was very small for a locked breech 45. Recoil was not severe probably due to the lock design and all stainless steel construction. I would not be surprised to see a similar sized version of an R45. Hook up with Mouseguns.com to find a general idea of the size of the AMT. Once your there click on the first sub-heading : Pocketgun chart by BOB O

I had an AMT backup in 45 back in 1998/99 and agree with you, the gun was decent to fire but reliability was a problem. The gun had problems feeding and after a polish job the problem didn't end, so I traded the gun in on something else.
The size was okay, not quite pocket carry like the R9, and the weight was pretty heavy as well.

The R-45 concept is a scaled up version of the R-9 in .45 ACP. The real question, of course, is how much larger does it have to be? No word on that just yet.

If the size of the R9 is any indication, the R45 will be the smallest that function will allow. 8)
I will be patient, there are enough projects to keep me busy. I keep forgeting that this is a new company. Time for them to secure for their future.
