Title: R9 Grips?
Post by: OCD on November 15, 2007, 11:45:43 AM
The grips are listed as being G10. Is that the Fiberglass/epoxy laminate?
What happened to the carbon fiber material. Is that still avaliable or to expensive??

OCD:

Yes, as I understand it, G10 (one brand name for which is MICARTA®) is produced by impregnating glass-woven fabric with an epoxy resin binder under high pressure.

As for the carbon fiber grips, the escalating demand for CF in the defense and aviation industries in the last few years has not only escalated prices for the material but also depleted supplies available to small manufacturers.
