So I want to purchase my first pocket holster and would like some imput if you will. I have looked at all the manufactures listed on this site and still dont know what I want.
I want one for the front pocket but am not sure about the wings on some. I get the part that the wings are supposed to catch on the side of the pocket but I dont want it to look like I am carrying a small book either. Can anyone give me their take on which they prefer and why.
Thanks
Hank

I really like the Desantis Super Fly. The only downside is it's open at the muzzle end, which could allow pocket dirt to get inside, but I haven't noticed that happening.
Good points are it's small and light, sticks in the pocket well, and you can remove the extra panel depending on the pants you're wearing.

Hank:
First of all, welcome to the Forum!
I'm one of those who carries the R9 in my strong-side front pocket using a Hedley holster. Depending on mode of dress, I use either a so-called Back-Pocket holster with a full counter-print panel (when wearing suit pants, slacks, or jeans) or a Limited Edition holster with the "wings" you describe (when wearing BDUs or cargo pants).

Hank - another Texas welcome! Personally, I prefer the wings of some sort. From carrying pocket pistols for about 20 years now, I feel that the wings really help in breaking up the outline of the gun regardless of what type of pants that you are wearing; jeans , slacks, or khakis.
And so what if it looks like a book? Better than a loose fit shifting around and having an upsidedown gun pointing up at you.
Just my .02
