Just wondering why an R9 for sale isn't in the clssified section, which may be the only place people looking to buy a Rohrbaugh would look?

Just guessing but Ron is a new member and just placed it
in the first convenient spot; it seems to have worked out.

I don't know Fat Boy didn't say he bought it just wanted pics, reposting it in the want ads may help sell it if it's still for sale.
I know will jump on a forum and only look at the for sale ads and know there are many people who do the same, thats was my reason for my first response

I don't think he will have any problem selling this one at
that price; it seems to be a win-win for everyone, including
Ron.

This is another setback for the $1400 I paid for the CF grip R9 on gunbroker a couple of months ago. I know we have already had this conversation (with the Ducati as an example) but where were these knuckleheads selling CF guns for cheap last May?

That was prior to the crash. As you know the air has come out
of all four tires since then.

Good point. Anybody hear the new slogan "obama lied and transparency died"?

No had not heard that one.  My local gun dealer said he could see things change pretty sharply at the middle June, is that what everone else is hearing?

I don't know if you are asking about something positive or negative because you are quoting your gun dealer. Gun sales and ammo, as I understand them, have skyrocketed. Is your gun dealer saying that sales improved particularly since June?

If you are asking about a downtrend, that has been ongoing since 4Q, 2008 and is based upon election fears and outcome. The downturn takes different forms, based upon investment. If you are in cash your interest plummets.

If you are invested in risk, you may have lost your shirt. If you are broke and wish to sit on the couch for 35 years, obama is your man.

According to one of my reliable sources who works at a large,
multiple outlet gun store there has been a marked decrease
in gun sales since June. Apparently, stimulus money has not
reached the discretionary income coffers yet.

tracker's comments places FB's post in context so I understand his point.

June is not so very long ago. If gun sales remain flat or subside through end of August, that would suggest a trend.

If that happens, it will be more of an economic issue than a reflection of  the desireability of gun ownership. I speak with a lot of people, reflecting ties in my corporate life, around the country. Even those who admit to having voted for obama are unhappy.

The shop I deal with said things are steady but down from a few monhs ago. I have been buying brass fron a couple of ranges and selling it on several gun forums and was shipping between two and six thousand pcs per week, from mid April to the first week in June I shipped over 50k pcs of brass. From June 7th to date I have only sold about three or four thousand pcs. Watching ammo for sale on the forums I can see there has been a slow down and the over price stuff is not moving near as fast as it had been.

Around here the main slowdown has been assault rifles with the prices decreasing from the insane prices people were selling them for a couple of months ago.  Handgun sales are still strong.  Hunting rifles have been slow for quite a while now.

I think the slowdown in assault rifles is due to the fact that the gun grabbers haven't made any strong attempt at restricting our rights, and a lot of people have already obtained what they wanted.  Once Obama or his cohorts introduce legislation or otherwise try  to regulate guns or ammo, the panic buying and hoarding will begin again.

Both yankee and hoseman's comments make sense. This happens in business quite often. Let's say you have a great quarter with record sales. Good news, right? Well, yes and no.

While the strong quarter has stand alone merit, sales departments dread the next quarter because they cannot meet or surpass the previous quarter's numbers.

On Wall Street, this type of event augers toward a stock losing value because the psychology of a company, (that does so well in a given quarter), looks bad because they cannot maintain the great numbers, however unrealistic it may be to do so.

It is a good thing for gun buyers that the fear, which drove AR type weapons and gun sales so high, has now subsided. While sellers will miss the big numbers, it is better for us that  market demand subsides.

Horseman.  Welcome to the forum.  Let's hope some sense will be learned from this first Panic.  Someone posted on a bill board:  RECESSION 101.  RECESSIONS END.

I know another one starts at some point.  Hope it's awhile down the road.

Well I sent Ron a PM asking what's up?  I just got an email saying:
"I sold the gun last week.
Thanks
Ron"
Now this is hard to believe, I responded within one minute of his post and committed to buying the gun once I had seen pictures which he was going to send me that night, and by his post it looks like he was still wanting to work for the best price he could get so what do you think;
A) He was a troll and the story was never true - "If it sounds too good to be true than maybe it is" or
B) Someone here on the board sent him a PM after me and made an offer he couldn't refuse - The old Godfather trick - "I have an offer you can't refuse"

No big deal life goes on, cf grips to me aren't that big of a deal.

Life goes on, to Fat Boy's point, but I respectfully hold out for the fact that CF grips make a difference.

It is weird that the guy posted the way he did and sold it in such a way that forum members did not have a chance.

At least the gun went for decent money and does not hurt as badly as that $650 deal.
