Here is the first picture of the new Carbon Fiber grips.
Higher resolution "glossy" pics to come.
The builder pointed out that as the grips are rotated and the light angle changes, it really brings out the reflection of the Carbon Fiber material.
Truly excellent workmanship.
If all goes as planned, production should begin by Wed and I should be receiving and shipping soon after.
Please write me here for questions and orders.

Beautiful grips and photos. Is it just the angle or are the
screw holes smaller on the grip on the right?

It's the angle. The left and right grip screw hole ID's are identical.
Here is some additional information from the builder regarding the holes.
"In the silicone mold, the holes in reverse are actually little pegs. And a nice thing about that is that I work the carbon fibers around the pegs, providing carbon fibers that are much stronger since they are not cut by a drill bit. The continuous fibers actually will wrap around the screw and the screw head".

Wow.
That's all I got. Pretty impressive first post huh ;D
At least I know what to get my pup when and if I do finally get one.

would you mind putting these on a R9 for us to see?

I should be receiving the grips by Wed. of this week.
I'll take a few Hi Resolution pictures of the outsides and insides and more after installing them on my R9S.
Thanks
-
cool, thanks for getting these grips made and they look so much better than the stock ones.....at least in pictures. Now to get permission for the logo.
-
Are you going to be able to do specialty colors? I can see white as being stunning on a RR R9. can you even get CF in white?
-
I'll see if he's able to get CF in other colors.
I'll let you know as soon as I know something definite.

Kevlar comes in a golden color, there are also different weaves in CF, that produce different patterns. And there are Hybrid fabrics that come an a variety of colors and weaves.

I can see the Rohrbaugh family crest showing up on the grips and wondered if the guy making them will be able to eliminate the crest. If not I would hope he gets the OK from Rohrbaugh to use their crest before any of those hit the market.
That being said I still want a set. More than one if additional colors become available.

I'm not quite sure what you're seeing, but the Rohrbaugh logo (crest) is not on the grips pictured above.

Corey is correct, if you turn up the brightness on your screen or have a very high res. screen you can see the lines from the Rohrbaugh logo, more so on the grip on the right.

Sorry Corey, my mistake.
You're correct.
Using my laptop, I cannot see the crest outline.
However, when I opened the picture using my PC, I'm able to faintly see the Crest outline.
I just received this information from the builder.
"The logo will not be on the finished grip in any way shape or form. The photo of course is of the prototype used to make the mold. The very faint logo is just from the fact that it was filled in with epoxy, then sanded and polished smooth. It is only a visual difference, not something that is physically transferred to the mold and the molded grips".
I'll post a picture of a new polished and finsihed grip in the morning.
Thanks again.

So,are the grips pictured "new" made,or are they a set of Rohrbaugh grips?
-
I echo the request to see the grips actually mounted on an R9 and applaud the entrepenurial(Sp?) spirit of catering to what R9 supporters really want.
Still scratching my head as to why factory did not make a greater effort to retain CF. Further, factory's claims as to cost and availability of CF are antithetical to what appears to be happening.

The grips pictured in this thread are the first set of grips that were removed from the mold.
They are not the final product.
Original Rohrbaugh grips were only used to make the mold.
I have posted a NEW picture of the final product.
The workmanship, as you can see, is excellent.

Are these flat? It looks like there are undulations is the grip. Is it the way the fiber was laid or is the some type of palm swell?
Great looking to say the least!

Thanks Jack,
I posted this picture of the New grips in a thread titled "Newest Grips".
These are the final product.
