5 mag and extra mag spring for future needs.  I figure the mag will not wear out but the springs will so buy springs.

3, for some reason, (laziness)  it's the only carry piece I own with less than 4 mags.

I carry it with one, and that will buy me time to get to my Glock 22C with two mags.  And that mag should buy me time to get to a rifle.

Can only haul around so much...

Let me hasten to note that of the 10 R9 magazines I own, I carry only 2 at a time -- 1 in the pistol and 1 as a spare in a Hedley magazine pouch. I change out my carry magazines twice a year, when I reset the clocks.

2, but will be ordering a 3rd.

After carrying a XD with a spare mag that held 16 rounds, 6 in the R9's spare seems like an insufficient amount.
