There's another one for $2900. Probably same seller, different name.

Ridiculous.
-
wilme2. Welcome to the Forum. Post often. I agree. Price, quite out of sight!
-
If he had two with consecutive serial numbers I might buy them for that price. ::) ;D

I own a spf and I dont think the price is out of line as their value will only increase...i had the chance to sell mine for over 3g and I passed...having owned a stealth , my spf is a far superior weapon...the action is much smoother and to date I have not have a failure...dont get me wrong the stealth and the other r9 are great guns and have good action .
-
I definitely would keep it. Very few made.
-
Since some here think there worth $3600 they might be, I dont know. If they are, and somone here is willing to pay that, contact me and for a $1000 fee I will tell you where you can get a BNIB one for $1895 and you can end up saving $705! ;D

It gets right down to how bad someone wants it, and what they're willing to pay. ;D ;D

The action on mine after having the Robar finish done on the internals is much better than before the work was done, and it was pretty good to start with. So I know what your talking about on the SPFs.

John,
Could you be a bit more specific about the action after the Robar? Was the trigger pull smoother, lighter, etc?
-
The trigger is smoother, and the cycling of the slide is smoother.

I have a regular R9s and couldn't be a happier camper. What a pistol!
-
The best thing about the spf versions is they make buying a regular R9 seem affordable.
-
If you look at who is selling it, always either LittleJ or P-A G
There are usually 2 of the same items listed. One Extremely high ($3500) and the other only very high (2800). Making it look like a "bargain" They are also from one of the two above listed users. What are the odds that they would both have such a rare Rohrbaugh and be located in the Same town? And happen to list them frequently at the same time? Have however never seen anyone bid on them.

I'm thinking of posting my farmie for 20K and see what happens ;D

P7. Your 143 without an "R" prefix will demand a premium value for sure.

It is sometimes amazing how people think in a tough economy. On one side you have people asking exorbatant prices for things (Like the Special forces that is marked up at more than double it's Suggested retail price) and then you have guys like in my town (Jacksonville, FL) that have Robar R9's for sale at less than Suggested retail. The guys here are using the reasoning that money is tight and that you have to give the people a deal so they want to buy because it makes sense. They told me their volume is so good by doing this that they come out ahead on thier numbers better than if they sold at the Retail prices level.

Chief. What are the Robars selling for in Jacksonville, Fla?
-
Just talked to him on the phone. Due to extreme deman they are selling at $1795.00 Having trouble keeping in stock. Example: they have 5 coming in and 3 are sold already.
The other store has (6) .380's and a standing order for R9's. They expect them next month and will sell at a discount of sorts.

Thanks! Good to know they are selling well.

The same guy (whose name is Jeffrey Little) pulls the same scam on Gunsamerica. He uses Jeffrey Little and pag-pag there. On Gunsamerica they just list the state and both sellers are from Pa. Gene
-
Can you tell if he ever sells anything on GunsAmerica?
-
Concur with the general discussion. The sellers know they have a R9 no longer made and they are exploiting opportunity. However, value needs a price and price needs a buyer. I don't think it is realistic that the $3500 R9 will sell
-
I'm sure this seller is testing the waters, and in a period of time, who knows what that is, that may be a good price. As for now, I can't understand why he is starting so high.
He's now gone up to $3800, buy it now.

I took a closer look at this auction this morning and the seller is from Reading, Pa. If I remember correctly, this seller was discussed on a previous string and has a habit of placing high numbers on his auctions.
No question he has a collectors item but the zero bids on the two SF R9s says it all for me. If he can find a buyer, more power to him, but I would not go near them.
-
The highest price is for show, his other price is usually a little cheaper tryin to look like a deal compaired to highest price, I have never see anyone bid on any Rohrbaugh he has listed. He has drifted into the pricing level of full Custom 1911's .

It will be interesting to see how much more he goes up!

I just reduced the price on my spf to 1550 on this forum...
