Title: My Pistol Denting Cartridge Cases Again! - PICS-
Post by: gdavis2265 on May 09, 2010, 10:35:49 PM
Guys,

Slingshoting the slide to cycle all six rounds through the R9S, feeds well, but is denting the cases very badly. (GD 115gr)

Crappy cell phone pics, but you get the idea.

Could sombody (or a few of you) do this (safely) and report back on if your R does this as well?

Mine leaves a significant dent, worried it might effect the pressure of the cartridge.

Stop cycling your SD ammo  :)  You really should not cycle ammo repeatedly in any firearm IMO. The same thing sometimes happens with my R9 as well... The R9 has very very tight tolerances.

Thanks,

I am aware to not cycle ammo and I am careful about this, just asking if this denting is normal for the gun, because it is happening - (I plan on shooting these rounds very soon)

When you're at the range, fire some ammo you haven't cycled and check those cases for dents; just to see.
