It's probably not likely but could you suppress an R9? Of course it would first require having a threaded barrel installed but then there would be the issue of the slide cycling properly.
I have a new Gemtech Tundra. Just trying to make the most of it.
-
Never heard of it, Jack. I think I would put that Tundra to use elsewhere.
-
I haven't heard of it either, and for those that haven't too, here is what it is.

What I meant was I hadn't heard of it on the R9. Gemtech is quite well known.

Here's a shot of the Tundra on my G19.

My other Tundra is of the V8 variety. :)
Here's another shot from yesterday's shoot.

Now, that is interesting! I like it! :)

Nice pics G!...but "farther is good" but farther and quieter is even better!... 8)
The 6.5 Lapua with AWC Ti Thundertrap...
We were achieving 100% "center mass" hits on a man sized steel at night while using AWC can and AN/PVS 24 at 1000yds...below is the platform we used. And yes, I am the "land manatee" in the background in the first pic...(the daytime shoots were at 4 and 6 inch lollies in rapid succession out to 400yds so the cameraman could get decent impact shots)

How much drop on the 6.5 Lapua at 1000 yds. no wind?
-
Tracker...the drop is: -352.94 for 139 grain
....and if one is interested in owning an exact "brother" to the weapon shown above, I have the same setup only with a black McMillian A5 adj stock and a Stiller Predator action in lieu of a blueprinted Remington action. The stiller is superior in all facets. The weapon is in all black configuration..we called it the "NIGHT OPS" version...has UNS mount and has same threads for Thundertrap can. Don't have a pic of it at the moment but can probably muster one up in the next day or so...

One of the more practical applications of that rig would be in a place like Ft. Hancock, Tx.. They are under invasion every night and day by illegal border crossings. The Sheriff there has summoned every resident to arm themselves. This first class set-up might be beyond their affordability and skill level, however.

I think the R9's flared barrel makes this a non-starter. I'm not sure what the point would be anyway... it's a carry gun, and its utility is in its size (among other things). I'm not gonna carry it around with a suppressor that's bigger than the gun.
-
Amen.

Jack is just trying to find more uses for the Tundra as he already has it and am sure he would just be shooting it at the range, even if it would work on the R9. Just my thoughts.
-
Amen.

A Tundra would be too big...but something like an AWC Abraxas would go well with a Rohrbaugh.
