I can not find anywhere a mention of the width of this gun, con someone give me a number? Is it more or less than .95" ??
I'm shopping between the R9 and the Boberg XR9S. The Boberg will accept +P but the R9 I can go and buy NOW. Well, not now but Monday....

WindsorFox. Welcome to the Forum. The width on the slide of the Rohrbaugh R9 is .812 inches. Here's the link. Just scroll down to Technical Specifications.

Welcome to the forum. Yuo can't go wrong wwith the R9, it is now a proven model with a good track record and great customer support. The Boberg is probably going to be a while before it hits the gunshop shelves. And as with any new production pistol could have some bugs to work out. Many new models introduced have had issues and or recalls.
(Walther PPS - Ruger SR9 & LCP to name a few)
Another thing to remember is after a new make and model gun is introduced is it can take a long time for the accessorie to become available if ever (holsters, mag extensions, lasers)
This site will give you a lot of info on the R9

As stated by kj the slide width is listed at 0.812

Thanks for the info people, I looked at that document at least three times last night and never saw it. Yes the "new" thing does bother me a bit, especially after my incident with a Hi-Point, the pluses on the Boberg are the price, +P ammo and no limp wristing. He fired one in a video with his arm straight out from his side to simulate that, BUT it is one of his test subjects so it could be tweaked and polished. These guns are hard to find used and when you do they are the price of a new one.

Sounds like you have made your decision. I recommend never buying ANYTHING that you are not sure on. If you have problems down the road, you want to know that you made the right decision and not say "I knew I shouldn't have bought this piece of crap."
Just my thoughts on purchasing high priced items.

As you know, the R9 is a much different animal than a Hi-Point.

Welcome to the forum.
Another great asset of the R9 is the brain trust here. Great forum, great folks.
I carry mine every day for most of a year now. I have absolute confidence in it. I have wrist problems, including carpal tunnel in the right hand. I do not ever have any limp wrist issues, though I have trained on previous Glocks to hold properly.
Highly recommended.

<zombie thread warning> :P
Yes, and I was attacked by a moderator/admin in the forums when I had the unmitigated gall to suggest that I shouldn't have to pay shipping to get a brand new piece of equipment serviced under warranty when it did not function new, out of the box. I did get a lot of suggestions on tweaks and remedies from other members, (none worked) but honestly do I want to allow my life to possibly depend on *that* piece of equipment? Nah....

Is it for sale?

What, the Hi Pernt? Loooong gone. It had 31 1/2 rounds through it, in the box and 3 extra mags. It was "like new" and took a $40 hit on it not to mention the time, effort and ammo.
-
I inferred that you had purchased an R9 and had issues with it and the shipping cost to return it to the factory. Apparently, that was not the case.
-
No that was the Hi-Point. When he said the R9 is completely different. I can not find an R9 within 150 miles of me.
-
Contact Tom Watson of the Irish Guard Firearms, a member here on the Forum. He'll be glad to help you get an R9.

Definitely check with Tom Watson. Just click one of his banner ads on top of the forum.
The Boberg has been promised for a long time, but aren't for sale yet that I know of. They are not currently listed as exhibit at the SHOT Show, unless they are sharing booth space with someone else.

Well that's good info; but, they probably have enough people on the waiting list to eat up the first three runs LOL
The problem isn't *getting* and R9 everyone around me can order it, It's finding one that I can feel up first.

I know exactly how you feel - I felt the very same way. I ended up getting very lucky in that I found a dealer near me that I was actually going to be driving within 10 miles of at Christmas time and he not only had R9s in stock but had one (which belonged to the store manager) he let me shoot before I bought.
I can say though that feeling it up as well as shooting it was totally convincing and I left the store with an R9s Stealth in hand. It did not disappoint me in any way.

Boberg won't be at the shot show. From his forum-
"With a lot of debate with my VP, we decided not to go. With all the prep and hoopla, we lose at least a week on delivering guns. "

Just my opinion, but that strikes me as a mistake...
SHOT is important. Anyone who is anyone is there. Not only do you promote sales, but you can talk with distributors, holster makers, parts suppliers, etc. Not to mention the "free" publicity.
If you want to be taken seriously, you have to go to SHOT.
That's not to to say you still can't make a good gun, of course.
-
Sounds like he's not really close to being able to provide product.
-
I'm here to help if you need me. Tom
