Does anyone know who might be the owner of Farmingdale 322, I have a suspicion after some research but it may have moved on. Cmon, someone knows, you can email me if you would like.
Thanks, Phil

Come on guys, I know one or more of you long timers know where that pistol is. Pretty please.......
-
I have no clue, sorry.
-
If Corey doesn't have a clue it may never have existed. ;D
-
What is the significance of 322?
-
I appreciate that Corey and John but, once again was this not a special serial no.? For a specific person? Active very early on with the Forum I believe. Its to bad we could not track through a registry who owned or owns what but the sensitivity there would never allow that and I understand that and I support not going there.
-
Hi Tracker, As I said in my previous post, this was one of very few pistols which were given "special" serial numbers and were given to the early supporters of both the forum and Karl Rohrbaugh. For that reason I hope whoever has it has taken good care of it and passes it along to someone who will understand what it represents and continues to respect the history of the Company and The Forum.

There must be another significance to the number 322 for you because it would have been sold in late 2004 or early 2005, not particularly noteworthy.

Here is a glimpse into the past about S/Ns.

Shelb, congrats on your new Rohrbaugh!
"Mine has a serial R43x....does this mean that mine is # 43x to come out of the factory?"
As I understand it, the frames are machined in batches, serialized, and anodized, and then matched up with a slide, and the slides are machined in batches either with or without sights. At least that was the impression I got when speaking with Eric.
However, I believe the first 100 pistols have been kept in house by the Rohrbaugh brothers, so that would make yours the 33xth to actually come out of the factory, with the 43xth frame made.

Thank you for that information on the serial no.s back in the early days. Respectfully, I have read that before and thouroughly understand it and agree with it. That is probably a pretty common happening in the world of firearms production the way BATF requires serial nos. to be applied. But I also read on the forum that there were at least 3 Farmingdales with no. post that first 100 that were put away or given away in a ceremony. I understand where 101 and 102 went but I also read that there were three in the 300 range that were kind of special.
-
I could of course be misinformed and what I have read is just folk lore. It would not be the first time I was wrong and I hope it won't be the last, I am not quite ready to meet my maker. Oh by the way in addition March 22 also has some great sentimental meaning to me that I will not go into on this forum.
-
Good luck in your search, Phil. I don't have a clue either.
-
Thanks Ken, not a big deal. Just something I read in some older posts. I have been involved in research in my past and sometimes I find a thread of information and I keep going and going. If there is a 322 maybe one day it will turn up. If not thats OK too.
-
Phil have you read this one?

Great day in the morning. The R322 has been found! :D
I think the search was/is for 322 and not R322. That's not making any less of R322 at all, I just think Phil is looking for 322.
-
You are correct as usual Corey. It was 322 I was looking for. Interesting the Pa. connection.
Phil
-
Still good to know where the R322 is. Maybe someone will come forward and tell us where the 322 is.
-
The other day I had a delivery from one of my vendors via Pitt Ohio trucking. I was familiar with the driver. A fellow gun enthusiast. I have showed him my Cogan R9 when i first had it customized. We were talking a bit and I asked to keep his eye out for a Farmingdale R9. That same evening he called me about R322. I called the dealer mike-mike known here at the forum and inquired about this fine gun. It is in good shape, but is missing the CF grips. You never know where you will find something. I also asked mike-mike to keep me up to date on his Farmingdale stock. If I don't buy it, I'll pass it along to the forum members to take a peek at! ;D
-
Now this is a small world. Now if only the 322 would show up!
-
You never know what you will find and where you will find it.
-
I think we covered that. :D
-
Oh ya. I have a good memory, it's just short! :)
-
That's OK.
-
I hope so. :D
-
We agree. ;D
-
Guys thanks for the welcome. I did not realize there is r322 and 322 produced. Thanks for the info. (and yes you've got a friend in PA).
-
Phil can always buy R322 and add 322 to his collection later. R322 is still for sale in PA.
He can have a matching SN set of guns. Maby he can add 322 R45 to this set? ;D
