I have been browsing around gunbroker.com and came upon this pup called the "Covert" that has been wilsonized very simular to the special forces R9. I was hoping for some feedback or opinions on whether or not this is a new option from Rohrbaugh (it's not on their products list of their web site) or possibly a gun shop sent a few off to Wilson and marketing them themselves? The last pic in the auction has the word "Covert" engraved on the barrel. The add also states that the gun is warranteed by Rohrbaugh. Thoughts?

I believe I read that this is a Dealer Customized Gun, not sold by Rohrbaugh.
I would say call Maria @ Rohrbaugh and get her take on it.

I believe Yankee to be right on target! :)

Anyone care to guess on whether or not this R9 would hold its value? It's conciderably cheaper than the special forces edition but I wonder if it would be thought of as a knock off even though it is a true R9. Thanks.
Apologies, I didn't look down to see the multi page thread on the covert.
-
I believe it will come down to supply and demand.
Although you can have one made to the same specifications yourself.
I guess I don't really know? :-/

That sure does look nice! ;D
Did you shoot your PUP yet?
-
I believe as far as value it will be worth what someone is willing to pay for a used custom R9.
It's not much different than those of us who have had Hard Chrom or Robar finishes done and checkering, stippling, porting and sight dot added. It's just Black and had a trigger job.
The real value in the NON Farmingdale models will be the limited run discontinued models.
-
as far as i know, this is not done by our company. we do not engrave covert on the slide. the finish is spectacular and would like to have my personal piece done. anyone know who did this?
-
This seller in cooperation with Wilson Combat and Rohrbaugh, as the seller states in the aucton, they are happy to be an exclusive dealer for the Covert. It does look good.
-
thanks for the information. i hope he is not trying to market our firearm with a new label??????
-
The seller says it it fully warrantied by Rohrbaugh. Oh! He also says he is a Master Rohrbaugh Dealer.
-
i appreciate it that he probably is a dealer, but before i get too upset, i have called my partner and left a message. there may be a licensing agreement that i do not know about.
-
we do have him listed as a dealer.
-
Michael. I do think this is on the up & up.

Unless I'm mistaken as stated by others the screws on the Covert are allen head. I spent several days trying to find a source for Torx head screws for the grips and I can say it is my belief there are none to be had.
I contacted a place that would make the torx screws for me but the minimum order was 5000 pieces @ sixty some cents each. :o :o

Adam does try hard, though. ;D
