Title: the usual "Got my new R9 today" post
Post by: Joe_from_NY on May 04, 2011, 02:41:47 AM
Well, my excellent local long island dealer, South Shore Sportsman, called me today to come and pick up my new R9 that they just received from the distributor, Arego's (it's too bad a gun can be manufactured 15 miles from my house, but it has to ship to me from the other side of the country). I have to bring it to the local PD headquarters tomorrow to get it added to my permit, then it's off to the range to check it out.  I already had the VZ grips waiting, so i put them on today. I bought a two-tone R9S two weeks back, but before i shot it, i decided i wanted the Stealth, and without sights. Now I don't know whether to sell the first one, or just box it up and keep it in mint condition without ever firing it. I am not really usually into keeping something i will never use just to keep it, but i don't know in this situation. It seems like alot of cash to tie up for something i wont be using.
Up until today, i mostly carried a Kahr P380, which is very light and always operates flawlessly. If not carrying the Kahr, i just drop a Seecamp .380 into my back pocket and forget it's there.  This R9 will probably eventually go in a Nemesis holster in the back pocket.

Check out Mika's Pocket Holsters.  Robert Mika has a website and he is great to work with and you won't believe how reasonable his holsters are.  He makes round bottom and square bottom holsters.  Square bottom for Cargo shorts and round bottom for slacks and jeans.  They aren't the most beautiful holsters but I swear buy them and many others in my area who carry daily.

By the way Keep Both R9's.  Some day you'll be glad you did.

Joe.  Congrats on getting the Stealth and the R9s.  Always good to have more than one Rohrbaugh; I'd keep 'em both, but that's just me.  Do enjoy!

Congrats Joe, Love it w/o sights!  And the VZs top it off quite well.
