Title: R9 only 1 hour old and want to shoot it
Post by: raytor on May 17, 2011, 04:45:06 PM
I just picked up my R9s Stealth about an hour ago and needed to pick up ammo for it.  Got some Speer GD HP 115gr to carry and some PMC FMJ just to shoot.  The dealer also talked me into a box of winchester 147gr HP as well - supposed to be a remake of the old gangsta "cop killas" (I hate that name).
I can't find much about them in the R9 on the search so anyone have experience shooting and carry the winchesters?

Hey Raytor, welcome to the forum!

One of my R9's will shoot anything, but I do not remember if I tried the Win. Ranger SXT ?.
But both of mine do shoot the Rem.  147 Golden Sabres fine.

It seems each R9 likes a particular round, but most do well with the Gold Dots.

Good Luck and have fun, hope you get to the range soon.

Let us know how it goes.

raytor, Welcome to the group.
I have shot the Winchester Ranger LEs in my pup as well as about 7 other makes and models with no problems.
I look forward to your range report.

Thanks for the welcome - I will try to shoot all three tomorrow but right now I have a bunch of questions -- will put in new thread.

Welcome to the Forum, Raytor, and congrats on the Rohrbaugh Stealth.  Have not tried the Winchester 147 grain HP.  Have a great range session.

I had first range day today with new R9S. Speer GD 124, Federal Hydra Shok 124, and <<<Drum Roll >>> Cheap Blaser Amum 124 grain at $10 a box of 50.  All fed, fired and ejected without a hitch. Am I lucky or what????

Congrats on your first range experience with your R9.

It's a good feeling.

You researched it well.
