Post by: howards on September 19, 2011, 08:13:29 PM
i am going to be receiving my 9 mm rohrbaugh this week.  several newbie questions.

1.  what is the recommended ammunition?
2.  how of do i replace the spring; 50, 100, 200 rounds?
3.  how often do you clean the gun?

thanks.

Welcome to the forum Howards.

The recommended ammo, is try out various ammo and find out what your gun likes.
But the general consensus for carrying is, most of the forum members have found that Speer Gold Dot standard, (NOT +P)  has been very reliable.

For practice, most of us have found that Winchester white box, found at most Wal-Marts is usually reliable.

I am fortunate as others, in that my guns will eat whatever I feed them.  Hopefully yours will too.

The reccomended recoil spring change is every 200 rounds.

Clean your gun after you shoot it.

Now how intently you clean may depend upon how much you shot it.
If I just shot one mag, I would not do a complete tear down.  I would just use Q-tips/solvent around the breech area and inside the slide and a patch/solvent through the bore.

3-4 mags or more, then I would tear it down, depending upon how dirty it was would steer me how much scrubbing involved.

Good Luck

Enjoy your R9 and Congrats!

howards, a welcome from me as well. :D

Gold Dots and Winchester Ranger for carry and WWB for practice are my choices.
