With help from my technical advisor and forum software engineer, we were able to put a simple patch in place in the registration process to try and stem the tide of spam members. Its working so far...
In the next few days I will be purging the membership roles of the spam members and then I will re-build the membership list.
Keep your fingers crossed that this will work. And -- if you are a new member and have no posts, you better post something a.s.a.p.! If you get deleted by accident, please let me know and don't take any offense!
Thanks to all for continuing to make this a great forum.

Thank you Duane.

Thank you, Sir! These "SPAM/Virus" purveyors seem to multiply faster than mosquitoes in the Niger Delta. My firewalls and filters are working overtime these days.

Duane,
Thanks for the work on the forum...
Believe me-it's appreciated.. :)

O.k. Whew! With TechGuy's help we deleted about 3,000 members who showed zero posts. The vast majority were not valid members--just accounts created by spam-bots.
While we would like to think our community is 3,000 plus strong -- it never really was. However, quality is far more important than quantity!
If any real members got caught in the sweep and deleted -- my apologies and I hope you will re-register. We had to take some drastic action to prevent the wasting of forum resources.
Thanks to all!
