I'm a newcomer, and am wondering how that got started?
I just shot my new R9s recently, and I'm thinking it might be more appropriate for me to call it "My Little Mule!" ;D Seriously, I really like this pistol and I look forward to carrying it for a long time to come. I'm also very pleased with the hooked extension that I bought from John and look forward to trying the straight extension I have on order.

Welcome to the Forum!
As for the origin of the term, "Pup," this link contains a discussion of it:

Arcturus Welcome to the group.
Richard left nothing to be added on the origin of the pup nickname.
Your straight extension shipped today. ;D

Arcturus. Welcome to the Forum from me as well. R9SCarry, as stated above, did coin the nickname, pup, as in one of his first posts where he used the word pup.
Thx Duane .... I think this is a timely measure, and all power to ya for kickin it off. Over time I think this will grow considerably and give R9 owners somewhere to hang out.
I feel like one of the ''fortunate few'' thus far ... having now had mine a coupla weeks .... it is a joy to own.
Because there are those still anxious to learn more about this pup ... let me (again!) post a link to my range report and ammo comparison ..

If it helps answer any questions then it will have been worth doing.

Welcome to the forum Arcturus...I didn't know why it was called a pup either, but was cool finding out.

Welcome Arcturus, I own two R9s and I have no clue why they are called "Pups" either...
