There may be a potential patent in that idea: "Pup on a Rope." 8)

Hi All
I saw this post and had to throw in my 2 cents. I own several MK25 pistols. Each has had the trigger reset adjusted and the trigger pull set for lesser pounds pull, and a factory tune up. The gun has a chrome lined barrel, as you know anti corrosive properties, night sights and a real pica tiny rail (which allows me to attach a sure fire light that will also snap on to an AR). The gun is dead on accurate and only requires the operator to learn how to properly use the trigger. The weapon is hammer fired. With ammo $'s so expensive these days I bought a Sig 22LR conversion kit. Sweet. It allows me to shoot 100's of rounds of 22LR with my same weapon at 6-8 cents per round and then a few real 9mm to enjoy the real recoil of the gun (which is minimal). The weapon will handle +P which is my carry option. I added a water proof laser (for taking showers or swimming).
Not being a fan of plastic guns this weapon has met all my expectation and NEVER had an issue after many thousands of rounds.

I was issued a Sig P-228 during my service days and when it became available to the Public I bought one. It is now over 20 years old and still as good as it ever was. I have no Idea how many rounds have gone through it. If the MK-25 is anything like that it will be a winner and a good gun to have in any collection. When I fire my 228 I do not even think about it not firing. I have several Nighthawks but the 228 is always in my briefcase Holster. (By the way , if you carry a briefcase as I do, check out the Bison Briefcase by Coronado Leather in San Diego, Beautiful in Build quality, looks, and function. Contains a hidden side holster as well.)
