I have had my R9 for around 4 years now and I carry it every day.
I would say I have put a 1000 rounds through it and it will eat almost every thing but bad primer Horaday's.
Recently I have been practice drawing the gun every evening when I get home and take off the work clothes.
The stock grips it came with are very smooth and have very little grip, I am afraid I might drop it if I really needed it in a hurry.
Also the gun wants to jump out of my hand when I shoot it, I think it should be named, bull dog not a pup. :D
What grip solutions do you guys recomend?
I was at the range yesterday and there was very little light to see the front sight. I had a hard time hitting target because of this condition which brings up low light shooting situations.
Does anyone have a front sight paint or solution that looks nice?
I would also like to carry an extra mag with hard ball ammo, who has a nice leather extra mag holder that fits on belt?
Thanks in advance for any feed back that would be helpful.

cut this in half and follow the instructions and for god sake don't buy the one with skulls on it. Should you need to use it, the police/court might think less of you....

Wow!!!
Thanks for all the responses.
Dose this snake grip stuff look ok?
Not that I would care if I needed to use it in a hurry.
Also, will the sight paints stay on permanently?

Any paint I have used will wear off....no big deal to touch up.....more than likley you will not be aware of the sights in an up close and personal contact....... ;D

I didn't have good luck with the Bright Sights. Never glowed in the dark well, and the yellow as too faint in daylight. Mixing with the non-glo yellow then gave good daylight, but not so good glow.
Just my 0.02.

I can't recommend this solution, because I have not tried it yet, but this is the path I plan to take.

I would just like to comment that I love to see people posting that they carry their R9s and shoot them. Nothing against the collectors, but I am a user myself and glad to see others who do the same. I'm in my second year of almost daily carry of the R9 (can't take it to some job locations) and like it so much that I am considering buying a spare.

I currently have some of the sandpaper type grip tape on the front and back strap of mine. The extra traction really helps while shooting and drawing from a pocket. I think I'm going to remove the tape soon and send her off to Bob Cogan for some checkering and hard chrome.

Yankee,
My gun looks just like yours. Great combo...

I highly recommend the VZ grips like the grip on Yankee's gun----i have them on 2 of my R9s--- they have rounded front and back edges so the grip fits the hand much better ( to me at least) than the stock "flat" grips.
The new Coyote R9 comes from the factory with VZ grips so they passed the "quality" test to be OEM.
