Tonight, I took out the R9 and snapped a few pictures for a friend of mine who was asking me about the holsters I ordered from Doug at Bear Creek. I sent the pictures and then found myself sitting in my office, holding the firearm, somewhat spellbound by it's craftsmanship, beauty, and design. I know we all own at least one here, but do you ever find yourself, for whatever brief moment, just kind of losing track of time while handling the firearm. I own several high quality firearms, but this took my by surprise when I realized I was gazing at my R9. I suppose it really says something about this little gun, when a 'gun-nut' is still entranced by it after a long time of ownership.
BTW, here's the pics I sent him.

The R9 has that effect on some people -- myself included. After what will be eight years in May, I still sometimes find myself mesmerized by my R9 when I remove it from its holster to wipe it down with a silicone cloth.

Adam,
Excellent pictures! You all are correct; the R9 is a very good looking weapon. When I was in my single digits I was taught to respect firearms and shoot. My father owed an American Eagle German Luger in .30 cal that I used to shoot from time to time. That was also a very good looking pistol! I sure do wish that he had not sold it a long time ago for a lot of money back then. But, our family needed the money so he sold it. It had been in the family for a very long time. His father was a veterinarian and actually used it to put down sick farm animals.
Where I am going with this is today that the R9 is one of two pistols I would never sell. I will hand them down to my son when the time comes.
By the way, I saw my new Cerberus Tactical Black .45 ACP the other day. I still have to finishing paying for it but I will post pics. It is unreal how nice the trigger is. This would be the second pistol I will save for my son if I had to sell off the others.
