I own an unfired R9 with sights. Wondering what it may be worth? On the slide: Farmingdale, N.Y., Rohrbaugh R9.
-
Welcome and good question. If you want to sell it maybe a better question may be, "what is the right asking price." The selling price is only what a willing buyer is willing to pay.
-
Thanks for the advice. The information I really seek is what would be a fair price to ask IF I were to sell it.
-
The market on these R9s is constantly changing but just a guess is somewhere south of $1500.
-
Welcome to the forum! Are the CF grips blue or black, is the frame silver or grey, is the slide marked R9s or R9? These things all would play a role in how much I would pay.

The carbon fiber grips are black, the frame is gray and the slide is marked R9.
-
With that updated information and the fact that a Farmie with blue grips and R9s on the slide sold for $1275 on gunbroker a few weeks (but it was not NIB) I would say start out asking $1500 and see if you get any takers but you may have to drop your price if you want to sell it quickly. Hope this helps.

Do you have all of the origional accessories?
Manuals
Lock
fired Cases
Recoil springs
Plastic case
Cardboard Shipping box
Warranty card
These will also play a roll in the value of the PUP.
-
I have everything that you listed except I never received any fired cases and I didn't get a cardboard box from my FFL guy.
-
Here is a photo of the R9s.

Very nice, gb!

Excellent for sure! :)

If anyone is in the market...I would consider offers! :D

Nice!

I am no expert, but a farmie with the accessories you have, un fired is a bit desireable to some. There are few buyers, but when you meet the right person, that sounds like a good purchase.
My LGS sells new r9s for 1250.00, so, yours is likely worth $1375.00 in my opinion, but only to the collector/ fanatic.
I personally say Do Not Sell It and for gods sake, fire that virgin, clean her, and never leave home w/o her. ;)

Agreed. To my way of thinking, purchasing the R9 and never firing it would be like purchasing a Ferrari and never driving it. Also, since the gun was test fired at the factory before shipment, it is technically no "virgin". (Besides, "virginity" is highly overrated. ;))

.... like purchasing a Ferrari and never driving it.
More common than one would think- I know a guy who used to be a tech at a Ferrari dealership.
There were a handful of customers who would schedule their yearly maintenance, and this guy would go pick up the car, service it, and deliver it back to its home. When recording the mileage, he noted that the car had zero miles since its last service.
Not for me! My lowest-mileage vehicle, my wife's Jeep, is about to turn 100,000 miles.
...And my R9 spit out quite a few Gold Dots this morning- All flawlessly.

The R9 has a new owner. Thank you to all that posted opinions on the value of the R9. And, thank you to all that posted the humorous advice.

gb. Congrats on the sale and to the buyer; an unfired Farmingdale, except factory, doesn't come along very often. Do come back and visit. :)

Congradulations to the buyer and seller.
Excellent Farmie for sure! ;D
