Hi everyone!
I purchased a new R9s and just recently took it out to shoot for the first time. Like the other Robert, I too fired 124-grain Gold Dot JHPs and with great satisfaction. Not only was the gun utterly reliable out of the box, the recoil was not as bad as I had imagined. Watching this one episode on You Tube, I thought for sure it would be a punishing and torturing experience. But, as I was to find out, and I speak for myself, it was actually quite manageable. Now, I’m not saying that I would want to go an entire range session with this gun alone, but I was not in any way brutalized.
Now, it’s time for this little jewel to go into ‘shoot it sparingly but carry it frequently’ mode.
In closing, I’m very grateful to those on this forum who provided so much useful and helpful information about this precision-made firearm. I’m very happy with my R9s purchase and very happy to be a new member of this fine forum.

Thanks again everyone! It's hard to explain but there is something about owning the very best of something in its class. Sure other guns may suffice to fill the main role of the R9 (and that is self-defense) but there is still something intangibly special about this little pocket gun. When I look at my R9, I can almost hear the poet Keats whispering, "A thing of beauty is a joy for ever: Its loveliness increases; It will never pass into nothingness..."
