Very good article!  Thanks for posting that link!  That website also has a lot of other very informative articles.  I always carry a pocket knife, but it is more for utility than for combat.  I suppose in a pinch, it would work.

I wear the tactical Emerson-Perrin La Griffe shown top right in the article's first photograph and carry a clip-on Wagner Reality Based Blade as a tactical folder.

In addition, I carry a Boker Tree Brand Drop Point Folding Hunter for every-day tasks.

I don't use the two tactical blades for any ordinary tasks.

Nice looking knives, Richard.  I was always wary of what kind of knives I carried.  I much prefer a fixed blade over a folder, but I don't want to scare the "sheeple" who would cringe at the sight of anything sharper than a butter knife.  In my state, there is no length limit stated in the laws so as far as I know, it is up to the discretion of the LEO to determine if you carried a "dangerous weapon" or not.  As a result, I have mostly carried inexpensive 3" drop point blades.  If I break it or it gets confiscated, I won't be too sad about it.  Lately, I've been looking at a Kabar TDI for times when I can't carry my pistol.  Should also look into some local training programs for knife fighting as well.

Tennessee law provides at T.C.A. § 39-17-1307(a)(1) that: "A person commits an offense who carries with the intent to go armed . . . a knife with a blade length exceeding four inches (4'') . . . ." (Emphasis supplied.)

In addition, T.C.A. § 39-17-1302(a)(7) prohibits the intentional or knowing possession, manufacture, transport, repair, or sale of a "switchblade knife."

Here is an inexpensive lightweight EDC that I am considering buying; there are handle scales and several sizes available.

Those little cutters would really be "slice and dice" instruments in QCB.
