Note the startle responses. Only the girl who gives the finger takes a defensive stance. She has trained well!

To borrow Ernest Hemingway's metaphor in Death in the Afternoon, that woman displayed more "cohones" than all of the men combined. ;D

Do you (-the rhetorical "you" not asking anyone specific) really snap into a fighting stance every time you get startled?
I don't.
Seems a little excessive to me. I probably would have laughed and kept walking.

I'll bite as "the rehtorical 'you'" with the answer that I once decked a friend by reflex when he pulled a "surprise from behind" prank on me one night.
I apologized to him -- but I didn't really mean it. It was a reckless thing for him to do.

Its is a somewhat funny video. Mainly, I think, because most of us would not expect an ornament to behave this way. But I do suppose, that it points out to us, to "expect it, when you least expect it".
On another forum, I posted a little story about what happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I didn't react "correctly", but I guess we learn from mistakes. Here's the link, if you care to read it.

I once had the same thing happen...decked him good. We later became a pretty good duplicate bridge team. If you plan to startle someone, best be in a defensive stance BEFORE you do it!
