According to Eric Rohrbaugh, this was the first R9S Elite to come off the line.
It is new in box and includes Warranty Card with handwritten note on it from Eric:
"1st Elite. This gun used for a photo shoot for American Handgunner article to come out in Dec 07 or Jan 08. ECH"
Warranty Card was stamped as follows: "FILED JUL 30 2007"
*The article didn't actually run until the July/August 2008 issue of American Handgunner.
This celebrity pup has never been fired and carries Serial# R2222 .
I am a private seller with the transaction being handled by an FFL dealer.
To make an offer on this unique-provenance Rohrbaugh contact:
Barry or Brendan at Openrange Sports (502) 243-8282.

Nice gun. I would like to know the price.
Thanks,
Ryan

If I am not mistaken, a clear asking price is a requirement for posting in the classifieds section of this forum?
Also, your post says to contact Openrange sports (Crestwood, Ky) to make an offer. Is the gun on consignment there or something?
Good luck with your sale, hopefully you can decide on an asking price.

Thanks for your comment, Ryan, and appreciate your interest.
Yes, wildmanwill, the gun is on consignment at Openrange.
Given this pup's one-of-a-kind status, I'd like to get $1800 for it.
-
Thanks for the info and update. Good luck with your sale! At that price, and given its unique history, I would think someone would snap it up soon!

I see this pup is on Gunbroker now.
Interesting to note that this pup was originally went to Roy Huntington, the writer for American Handgunner per this old thread

Sorry, just a teaser! ;)
Should be here this week. I will post pics when it arrives. ;D
Eric and Karl have promised me the #2 Elite made. #1 went to Roy Huntington, the writer for American Handgunner. I am very pleased to be so honored by the brothers.
More to come...
Wonder how it went from Roy to now being sold on consignment...unless he is the OP to this thread and consignor...
-
It will be interesting to see what it sells for. At one point it was listed in the classifieds here for $1800 with no takers.
-
It was previously listed here in this thread for $1800.
R2222 sold on GunBroker for $1925. Congrats Blue!
-
Thanks Will,
Told myself I would just watch the auction.......
-
I wouldn't sell #2 for $1,925, so sounds like a good deal to me! ;)
