Hey guys,
Just a friendly introduction, and thanks for all the valuable info. Had an R9 since 11/2005, but picked it up from from the original owner. Just sent my Farmie back to the spa...for stripped screw removal on right grip. I hope it doesn't come back a Deer of any sort, it's been reliable whenever taken out for exercise, which isn't often enough.
Have a great week!

Welcome, thanks for introducing yourself. I hope that all turns out well with your Farmie and its stripped grip screw!

Thanks wildman. I should've left well enough alone....but wanted to try some VZ Grips, decided to stick with the stock CF grips. Don't really see the VZ's offering ME that much of a difference...but I did not put them on...that being said, the VZ's are beautiful and their customer service is stellar.

Welcome to the forum DFWBo. When you get your gun back, don't be shy about trying out the VZ's. The Carbon Fiber VZ's DO make a difference for sure.
-
Welcome from me as well.
I second Reinz's endorsement of the VZs. I have a lot of different grips for my R9, but VZs are what it usually wears. They are virtually indestructible and their slight palm swell helps in controlling the piece during firing.

Welcome to the forum. I hope that the stripped grip screw is able to be resolved without the need to replace the slide. If you havent already I would call the factory and express your concerns. Please keep us posted as to how your gun turns out.
Good luck,
Ryan

Barring some defect in the slide that hasn't been mentioned, I don't see how removing a stripped grip screw in the frame should require the slide's replacement. Just mention to the factory that you want to retain the Farmingdale slide.

Thanks for the suggestion, will call Monday to ask about slide....didn't even consider it might get changed.

Just a little update...Got a call from Karl himself saying the issue has been resolved, they kept the original slide, updated a few internals, and the piece functions flawlessly. It's on it's way home :)
Man did I miss it...
I thought it was great to receive a call from the CEO regarding a customer service issue...more companies should take a hint from the Rohrbaughs...

Awesome, Karl Rocks! 8)

Thankfully I've never had to have any service work done to my pups, but after hearing this along with several other's accounts of Karl's excellent customer service, I'd almost look forward to dealing with them.
