Have to disagree with the end results of this.

The XDm is a better weapon than the M&P

All three are fine weapons for their purpose, but to quote a post by "Blue Grips" early on in the Forum's history, "Plastic's got no soul."   8)

I have to agree that all three weapon are ok, but none are for me. None of these weapon feel good in my hand, but that is just me.

Forced to choose between the three, I'd go Springfield XD.  I have three of those, can't remember how many Glocks, and one M&P.  While I consider all of them reliable weapons, I feel that the Springfield offers more features.

If my XDms shot 3" groups, I'd be unhappy - but the XDm 5.25 is a bit of an upgrade
