R9 Pistol, Serial Number: R9
This may be the most collectable R9 yet…
This is Karl Rohrbaugh's personal R9 pistol. Typical of Karl, this firearm was just put together with spare parts that were lying around the shop at the time. Not pretty, but it always works and, after all, it is the master’s personal R9, which he carried for years.

Thank you Richard! I plan on giving it a very good home.

Truly, I think this is the most "collectable" piece that has come out yet... I hear that there may be at least one more gun coming from the same source.

Congratulations on this fine buy. They have an excellent new home for sure!

Actually there are a couple more firearms coming -- not Rohrbaugh firearms per se, but guns with Rohrbaugh connections. ;)

Thanks Adam. I was thinking of you when I saw that silver Farmie in the other listing....I know you have a soft spot for them!

I was wrong about that...another collectable Rohrbaugh R9 has been listed in the Classifieds...

Was excited to pick up Karl's gun yesterday. No doubt this is the holy grail of my collection. Karl and Eric even sent a signed certificate stating that this was one of the first guns built in Farmingdale and was built and carried by Karl. Very happy with the transaction and to be able to have this in my collection.

I let the other pups out of the kennel for a quick picture. In the collection we have:
Left in holster: My EDC an R9s Elite with CF grips, black grip screws and black mag.
Top Left: #321, was supposed to be #148 but original owner got a custom number. Only silver frame pre-R ever sold to public.
Top Right: Karl's R9 SN "R9" I was curious if this was pre or post R prefix and based on the thickness of the slide when compared to my other pre and post R guns it appears to be a pre R prefix and I think the R in R9 is just a custom number to commemorate the R9 model.
Bottom Left: R9 #118
Bottom Right: R9s #117
I would love to know more about the history of #117 and #118 if anyone out there knows.

Thanks Adam. It has been fun learning about all the different aspects of these fine pistols and meeting the other enthusiasts along the way. I'm hoping you get back in to collecting....it would be fun to have some other collectors on the forum
