Title: New Toy
Post by: Buffalo on June 14, 2013, 09:45:50 PM
Sorry for the title but didn't know a better way to put it since I probably already have too many but I just enjoy them and find time at the range fun.

I have several revolvers and pistols.  The Tribute being one of them which is my EDC especially in summer.  Not looking to duplicate.

I've been looking for a new toy but not sure what I should be looking at and wanted to hear suggestions by member here.  I'm in the limited state of NY so pistols are now limited, ugh... at least for now.
I do find the double tap to be interesting but it's just not for me.  I wanted to keep the choices to 9mm or 357mag but may consider 380 if it's something rare I haven't considered.

Any suggestions?

Hk p30.  That and my hk45c are my favorite pistols to shoot.  But since you specified 9mm I'd go with the p30.  Ergonomics are second to none and it will last longer than you will.

Thank you Jayson for the suggestion.
Unless I'm wrong the p30 has a 15 round mag which Big Brother has determined is not in our best interest

Is there anything in the 7 rounds or under?

Wow that's tough!  Hmmmm.  I really like the ppk and that's 7 RDS even but man your state is making it tough.  Just move down south lol. The weather is great too!

As a proud owner of a P7 and a P30, you cannot go wrong with either.

I second the P7 suggestions.

I just got back from Charleston, SC last week.... moving south would be a good idea, but just not in the cards for me right now.
..... but was the weather nice.  There was a rain storm one night but the next day it was bright and sunny again.

Already have a M&P Shield, but the P7 is something I don't have "yet"!

I think I will have to check out the P7 and see how it feels in my hand.

Thanks for the info and picture!

Have you Look at the Boberg? That is my next toy, then a P7.

I did consider the Boberg but just not sure about reliability.  Don't know anyone who had one and still own it. A friend sold his after a few months.

What about the Kimberly Solo CDP??  While I heard the initial batch had a few problems, they have since been corrected.

Never shot the gun personally, but heard its nice. This is one gun that I wouldn't mind owning someday.

I own two Bobergs and a Kimber Solo CDP.  I moved up to the CDP from the standard model.  All four have been 100% reliable.

All are very accurate and easy to shoot.  The Bobergs are amazingly accurate and the easiest small nine to shoot that I have found.

That said, Boberg as most start-up gun manufacturers has had a few growing pains and start-up problems.  Arne is still shooting to have his micro 45 ACP/45 Super on the street by 2014.  We will see.

Buffalo:

If none of the above suggestions are what you want, consider an "Armageddon Pistol," such as the MR DE .50 AE:
