I guess the drums will be rolling for another year for the R45 introduction.

Last year's SHOT was a "yawn," and 2014 doesn't look too promising.
As for Rohrbaugh's participation, that would cost a lot of money, the factory is running at full tilt, and there was a storm called "Sandy" that would have destroyed a lesser company caught in its path.

Maybe I'm lacking vision, but I don't see how they could improve on the various R9s. I'm still really pleased with my Tribute... no problems to name.
I've admired the various version including the what I would consider the collectibles and they're just amazing guns in my humble opinion.

You lack no vision and are spot on, Buffalo. There is nothing on the market or on the horizon that can equal the R9.

What Glock did last year was embarrassing. They don't seem to have a whole lot going this year either, a single stack 380 and a 45 Long Slide.
The 45 isn't bad, I have a lot of fun with my 17L.
But a single stack 380 five years after Ruger introduced the LCP? ya - "yawn" better late than never but - so what?
I really want a 9mm carbine. I am very leary of a Taurus.
CZ is making a 9mm carbine now. The one pictured has a short barrel but there is a 16" barreled version for export...
I really don't expect anyone to top the R9 in the pocket nine category. It seems that companies are focusing on guns the size of the Shield / Springfield EMP and the like.
I'm amazed when someone does a review of the LC9 on some forum and talks about it as a pocket pistol. I guess if it fits in a pocket it must be a "pocket pistol".

I'm sure those will fly off the shelf. Just wonder if there will be significant problems with the design. Wouldn't mind seeing a stainless version.

Pretty little thing...reminds me of a squirt gun one of my boys had...HOWEVER, pretty is as pretty does...if it is an excellent handgun in all important parameters, I would wish to try one out. Of all the non-Rohrbaugh small 9's I've fired, I liked the Kimber Solo stainless the best. It was a newer version and was absolutely reliable, unlike the previous reports...nice to shoot, accurate with good ergonomics, at least for my hand and eye. I'd carry one if I hadn't married my Covert for life.

Richard,
I agree completely but for some reason this Remington has some draw to me. I know it's a new version of the original Model 51, but reminds me more of the Bond PPK's big brother if there was such a thing. It will be interesting to see if it truly functions.

The Remington 51 may be a nice pistol, but as with the Springfield XD series, I don't really care for a grip safety on this type of pistol.
The trigger also looks to be a "pincher".
And, it does resemble the Ruger LC9 in many areas.

I have an HK P7M8 and a Rohrbaugh R9 so I don't see myself getting this pistol, but I do think it looks cool and from the initial reviews it has a nicer trigger than any striker-fired guns.
With a trigger like that, you have to have some kind of additional safety like a manual safety or a grip safety.
The Remington also has a lower bore axis which makes shooting it obviously feel less "flippy"
Kudos to Remington, I hope the gun does well. I also think they'll have it in 380 AUTO before Glock has their single stack 9 out.

Hey, guys. Yes, no Rohrbaugh at the show this year. Agree with the previous comments, and Sandy had a lot to do with the decision. Things are humming along well at the factory and nothing is wrong. The time and money is just spent better elsewhere.

That's a very intelligent move by the brothers.
I'd rather have the time spent at the factory, getting our pistols ready ... ;D
