Never shot a Rohrbaugh before. Ordered a Special Forces and it's coming to my FFL on Wednesday, and I'm VERY excited after talking to Maria today (who is a terrifically friendly, helpful person).
Can anyone chime in and give me any advice a newbie would need or find important/useful?? I have read a bunch of posts and replies on this forum and have already learned a bunch, but know that I need some patience and practice taking down and reassembling the pistol.
Looks like nobody manufactures the magazine extensions or the tools that aid in disassembly / reassembly, or am I wrong (hopefully)?
Any advice or tips would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.
Keep the PUP clean and lubricated.
Shoot quality ammo that runs reliable in it.
I only shoot 115 grain Gold Dots. They have been 100% reliable in all the PUPs I have owned.

I did kind of an informal study here about ammo and formed that opinion that most people report having success with the 124gr Gold Dots.
I've run about 200 rounds through my R9 and over 150 of those were 124gr Gold Dots.
My R9 does not like 147gr Remington Bonded Golden Sabres, I get fried egg primers and failure to ignite on what looks like light strikes. But My R9 has worked well with the other rounds I've tried - 147gr TMJ Lawman and 147gr Winchester Ranger "T" Series - RA9T.
Since I really like the RA9T anyway, I'm totally happy.
I made a mistake the first time I took down my R9 in that it was a carpeted room. Now I take it apart for cleaning in a very small room with a linoleum floor.

How long was the wait, since you placed your order ? I received an email stated 6-7 month wait time, depending on the model.

Re: tools, go to cleaning and maintenance category and look for the recent thread on tools for takedown and reassembly. Several other threads also apply.
Some thoughts for a new owner:
1. Take it down and clean/lubricate it before the first range trip and after each use...they don't like to be dirty. Initially they will be tight and you may get some metal filings and dirt in the works...don't carry until you are satisfied that it is broken in.
2. Take the hex wrench with you and tighten the grip screws gently but firmly, the right (ejection) side in particular since when they get loose (note "when" not "if") the pistol will malfunction. Never over tighten. Yankee can provide better grip screws and o-rings that help prevent the screws coming loose from firing (30 to 50 rounds can do it)...I use both but still get loose screws. Some here use a little clear nail polish or Locktite Blue, but I would prefer to simply keep the screws tight and not chance stripping the screw head (has happened and requires a MAJOR intervention at the factory. If your screws are really tight, Karl's people may have put on a little Locktite already...need to heat the screw if much resistance to removal.
3. These little jewels are VERY ammo sensitive and seem to have strong individual preferences, so find out what yours likes. For practice I use Speer Lawman successfully. For carry, I will fire 13 rounds out of a box of 124 gr. Speer Gold Dot JHP and if all fire from that box, the other seven are loaded for carry. The R9 feeds JHP best. I am fortunate that my R9 Covert shoots almost any premium ammo.
4. Proper grip and a firm grip and wrist are essential...otherwise ejection and feeding issues occur.
Recoil is significant, varying by type of ammo a bit. I wear a leather glove for practice.
5. On your first takedown, check the firing pin retainer to be sure it does not move to the side (gentle push with a small wooden dowel or a screwdriver). If it does, call Maria and send it back...a few of us have had that problem, which prevents proper cycling of the slide. There are pictures on file here, but I'm not computer savvy enough to find the thread for you...One of the really OLD GUYS can help with that (sorry Richard...actually we are the same age!).

Did you possibly know of another place I should look for those items?

My local dealer has a "Stealth" in stock, which I will probably give in (can't wait any longer) and purchase.
I am curious though, to the price of the "Special Forces" model. Are they really running at the prices I'm hearing (and seeing) ?

Last I knew the list price of the SF was $1,795.00

That's a lot of bills for any type of pistol, even the SF gem.
I think I'll be happy with the Stealth for $1,195 ... 8)
Especially for a pistol that won't be shot that often.

Wise decision; they are usually carried out of sight and they all shoot the same.

My LGS has a beautiful Tribute sitting in the display case, left from his last delivery of eight. I called yesterday, and he advised there are four Stealth models on order, that are en route within the next two months.
No one has yet to fork over the $1795.00 asking price of the Tribute.
Seems most Rohrbaugh fans are satisfied with the Stealth and it's price.

The NIB Special forces sold on GB yesterday for a final offering of $1925.00.

I'm assuming that this auction was for one of the recently produced ones as well as the OP to this thread (and seller of the GB listing) also mentioned ordering his Special Forces and it being shipped to his FFL.
