Title: trigger disconnected

hi everyone I was doing my first cleaning and in some frustration reassembling the hammer was pushed back.
it must have disconnected from the trigger is this something that can be fixed by removing the side panel?
I need to get a smaller allen wrench at work tomorrow .

It sounds like you may want to remove the right grip panel and check the sear trigger bar spring; it could have slipped off the post. There are some past posts on how to do this without getting too frustrated. If this is the problem it helps to open the spring loop just slightly with a flat head screwdriver to help reinstall it.

What "Tracker" said.  Check the Maintenance section of Chris' FAQ section, the link to which appears at the top of the Forum's opening page, for an illustration.  It's a quick and easy fix -- another example of the brilliant simplicity that is a hallmark of the R9's design.

Took less than 3 min.  Sear came off hammer,spring was in place.
Oiled reassembled and cycled fine now to fire again to build some confidence to carry.
Shooting gold dots 124 grn. Ran fine the first time.

Thanks again can't wait for my Bear Creek holster to arrive!!!

I think you're good to go.  Just keep that grip screw firmly seated.  I prefer "Yankee's" O-rings rather than Loctite to keep the grip screws snugged up tightly -- and a high-quality hex key such as a Bondus or Hudy is always in my range bag.  I change out grips on my "Farmingdale" R9 with some frequency (for no reason other than my own ego satisfaction), and the piece will mark its 10th year of EDC service in May.
