It's rather slow here on the Forum lately, so here is a previously posted photograph of R9 No. 132, "just for show":

Richard, that dang thing always makes me jealous!  My EDC is a Covert....black with black VZ's and black mag extension....purely for business but no bling.  In fact, most of my carry pistols are black, including a special forces Ed Brown 45.  As a Highland Scot 3 generations removed, I mostly have weapons as tools instead of art in my safe.  I do have a personally engraved Seecamp .32 that shines...can't recover the pics while hiding here in Florida to avoid nasty weather in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. When I get to Richard's advanced age  ;D   ;D I will probably mellow and buy more pretty stuff, but as with Richard's Joyce, and unlike my choice of weapons, I do have a very decorative wife who is my lifetime partner and soulmate.

Richard, I am so glad that Joyce is recovering smoothly, if expectedly slowly.

ps:  I am only 72, but look, act and feel younger because I missed so many days and nights and weekends working in the ICU that I just flat didn't have time to age properly.  ;)

Ya know I don't think 72 is too bad really. People are living longer and living healthier until later in life than ever before. Besides, I appreciate you older fellows. Not all brag, brag, know it all, Blah blah blah like a lot of guys my age and younger. You have some seasoned class about you.

We're in for a bit of a cold spell ourselves too. This weekend 74-79/Sunny.

Richard, I thought of you when I saw this.

Whether popping an unwanted varmint intruder at Critter Creek or just showing off at the 4th of July Bar-B-Que, it would make a nice addition to the collection.

Nice situation to find yourself in. One of these days I hope to make my way south for wintering in. Until then I just have 5 boys to try to see through college. Lol.

MRC, Richard has some absolutely beautiful handguns, but I do believe that Desert Eagle would be welcome in his gunsafe...mouth-watering beautiful!

It was a balmy 10 degrees here at Critter Creek today, with only four inches of ice and snow. That's a far cry from what is going on up north, but it makes me long to be on a sailboat in the Caribbean.

John, you are well situated there on the island with your beautiful lady.  Trust me, these mountains are as cold as a witch's heart this week.  I counted over fifty birds of various types at the feeder today.  They were the only "critters" stirring.

And MRC, that is one good looking DE.  It even shows up my own "Gonzo."

I have to buy some more doggone bling!  That is another beautiful handgun Richard, a fitting companion to your beautiful wife, my friend.  I truly enjoy seeing your collection and those of MRC...just incredibly beautiful.

It was -13 degrees in Bristol last night, and I am told there was at least 4" of snow on my driveway, scraped in my absence this a.m. by my faithful yard manager and friend Earl.  Unfortunately it was 24 degrees here in north Florida last night...at least no snow! Supposed to be 78 degrees on Sunday so I'll thaw out the old golf clubs.  For now I'm putting on my Scottish hoodie and taking a glass of single malt out to the balcony to listen to the ocean until fingers get numb.

Guys and gals, every day is a gift, especially in the parts of our recently diminished but wonderful country that allow gun ownership and carry...gotta love Tennessee and Florida (and Texas of course) among (now) many others.  Sleep warm and well this cold winter night.  I'm going 10-7 and down.

Now, one day after 10-degree weather with ice and snow here in the mountains of East Tennessee, it is 45 degrees and raining.  Ice and snow are just a memory.  At least the creeks are running full.
