Title: Hurricane Patricia
Post by: MRC on October 26, 2015, 01:35:10 PM

The remnants of Hurricane Patricia will hit Iowa tomorrow and tomorrow night with an inch or two of rain.

We fared quite well and thank you for asking. It was a steady rain of about 9 inches locally over 24 hours, so the drainage systems were effective in most parts of town. Of course, if you saw Houston on national news it looked like we were all submerged but that wasn't the case.

I never did see anything on the news about Houston.

What did that town south of Dallas end up with?  They were saying 20" and up from there.

The 20 inches was recorded in Corsicana and Kerens, a small town to the east. Also, a freight train was derailed in the same area close to I-45 and went over on its side in high water.

We poured a little over 22 inches out of our rain gauge. We are located around Malakoff, Tx. on Cedar Creek Lake.  Approx. 25 miles east of Corsicana.

Good news for Cedar Creek Lake which was so high and dry a few years ago the owners' boat docks couldn't reach the lake.
