Its me, The capt. Got my aluminums now my blue carbonfibers are up for sale. A few forum members expressed interest but after p.m.s havent heard back. Last look Black carbon fibers were up for sale at $330.00 plus shipping. anyone interested? let me know on this topic so everyone sees your offer an doesnt think im "shill bidding". Im not good with computers so I dont know how to post pics, but can email pics to an email from my camera phone. Grips are EXCELLENT, blue carbon fiber Rohrbaugh factory issue. No scratches, frays, or other flaws. The inside of the grips where attached to the frame do show signs of use, however this is purely cosmetic, and does not effect the use of them and is not visible from the outside obviously. I will also be enclosing a set of G-10 grips free as Ive no use for them. They are beatup, but may come in handy. If you dont want them, throw em out, donate em, etc. whatever you like. Ive had some bad expieriances with pay-pal so will only be able to take cashier checks or money orders as payment. If the Carbon Fibers for some reason do not fit, or work properly I will refund your money less shipping charges, but you can keep the G-10s for your trouble. Let the bids begin :)

ok, so far, ive been offered $300.00 with shipping included. THis was from two differant members, and both in p.m. format. again. PLEASE post on this topic so people know im not pulling a number outa my ___. Yankee 2500 has offered to post pics for me, so when I get home, ill be taking some and sending to him. THANK YOU YANKEE! the two members who placed offers are well established, however in the event someone places an offer with just one post behind thier credit, I researve the right the withdraw his/her offer and go to the next highest forum member who has more than just a few posts behind thier name. This is to prevent someone from just joining the forum to buy the grips. in the event of a tie ( identical bid such as currently) the first bidder will be given prefrence. I have tried to be as fair about this as I can think to be, and didnt want to go the ebay route when the forum here has so many dedicated R-9 fans who have been so helpful to me. I will be retaining any and all p.m.s thus far and they are subject to being posted should someone call in to question who wins so again PLEASE POST OFFER HERE. I gotta be honest i wont be heartbroken if they dont sell, so if you want em, get em now before I change my mind! ;D Not sure how long ill keep this post up, a couple days should suffice for any and all interested to have seen an submit an offer. Thankyou again, to this great forum!

capt. I'll give $300. and will add plus shipping. I do want to see the pictures. Thanks!
-
Although I do want these, and in your pm from a week an half ago you told me "you have first dibbs", I am NOT going to bid against my forum brothers on these and run the price up. I don't belive in auctions here on the forum (edited to add: unless it's proceeds go to the upkeep of the forum or if somthing special / tragic has happened), it will only break up the unity of the members. I'll keep looking.
Corey
Ps. Thanks for the 12 min between the pm you sent me and the time you listed the grips. I'm in the forum alot but I don't live here.
-
capt. Corey deserves these on the first dibbs issue.
-
Corey and Kj, I gotta tell you, you are both class acts!! I'm proud to be on the same forum with you. Gene
-
I have no horse in this race, and am just posting pics. As much as I would like to have a pair of the original Blue CFs, I will not bid for them on here.

Thanks, John, for posting the pictures. Corey should have them, as he had first dibbs.
-
I agree in regards to Corey, and if it's an auction it should be held on Gun Broker or E-Bay.
John
-
I think it's a matter of who spoke and asked for them first, and Corey did that. And yes, an auction belongs on an auction, agreed.
-
Thanks guys, if a price is set and its not crazy I would love to have these but if it is an auction style sell I'm out. It's up to the capt now on what he wants to do.

I belong to a slew of forums and this is the first I've seen of an "auction" style sale.
Based on what I've read in this thread, the grips should go to Correey.
No question about it.
My 2 cents.............
-
I think most of us agree on that, Curt.
-
I surely do!
-
they should go to Corey!! I want some blues but won't bid either.

Group hug ;)

Ok well corey seems a bit miffed at me, an the general consensus seems to be this auction thing was a bad idea. I did this EXACTLY because I KNEW someone would be ticked off etc. but its the only way I can SHOW exactly WHO said what an when. as for gun broker, etc. yea hind site 20/20 guess I shoulda went that route. Corey: I NEVER gave you 12 minutes...you must forgive my computer ignorance, I was told P.M. responses dont register until the computer is refreshed. This is something I didnt know and for that I apologize. Ill eat this one, sorry for the hassle, You certainly seem to be computer literate even if you dont "live here" so Im sure you can understand. And if you recall my latest response to your p.m., you were advised what the price had been bumped up to. Ill give first dibs...but if someone else is willing to pay more should that be ignored too? Never mind, I dont want this to turn into a flame or whatever. Group hug is right...sorry fellas.

First i'll say that after this post i'm done with this thread. I won't be buying these from capt.koolaid and I dought he would sell them to me anyway. Miffed I am and with reason weather good or not who knows. As far as SHOW exactly WHO saidd what and when I can only attest to what I KNOW.
I KNOW on May 8th I was told I would have first dibbs on the grips.
I KNOW on May 14th I was told again that I had first dibbs.
I KNOW on May 18th at 6:29 I was sent a pm asking "still interested in my blue carbon fibers?"
I KNOW this classified listing was placed May 18th at 6:42pm 12 min after I recieved the pm asking if I was still interested. (by the way, PM's are SENT as soon as you hit the SEND MESSAGE button not when the computer is refreshed)
I KNOW in that latest response you sent me you said refering to a $300 bid "If you can beat that lemme know" and as I have said several times I will not bid against any forum member on this forum for anything.
I KNOW you must have changed you thought process since November 6th, 2006 when you posted HERE (http://www.rohrbaughforum.com/YaBB.cgi?board=R9S;action=display;num=1162427363;start=9#9) "Beware however, there are some JERKS out thier scalping carbon fiber grips at ridiculous prices?" I'm not saying your price was ridiculous or not because you never would set a price.
Group hug, no thanks.
On another note if anybody has any blue cf grips FOR SALE I am looking for a set to buy.
Piece out!

Are they still available for $250?
-
Who knows?
-
Please pass the popcorn...
-
Get a grip.
-
::) Should just sell them on an auction site at this point IMO...
-
Yep! I think the capt. has probably left the building and to do just that.

Maybe it"s time for it to be locked or deleted. :(
John
-
Duane,
Hook, please.
-
This is not cool. I am indeed locking this thread.
Selling on the forum (for free) is a privilege, not a right, for participating members. I have always reserved the right to cancel any classified posts. The classifieds are the source of most problems on the board.
Attempts to aution items on a forum are awkward at best. That is what auction sites are for. Anyone who wants to test the waters and try and maximize their price with an auctions shoud go there.
New rule -- no auctions -- fixed price sales only. Its the gentlemanly thing to do.
I may still conduct the occasional auction to support the forum, but the rules will always be conspicuously posted and the proceeds will go to benefit the forum or another charitable cause.
Thanks.
