I am hopefully going to be taking reciept of my new R9S from theirishguard next week, and I need an IWB to put it in. I already have a pocket holster, and I have a custom IWB on order from my favorite custom holster maker, but, it is going to be a long time before I see it. So if anyone has some nice leather they would sell, let me know. Used or new, I would like to see them. If anyone knows of a place that has them in stock, I would apreciate the info, thanks guys!

Who is the custom maker making your holster? Please post pictures when you get it!

NV_Shooter, Welcome to the group.

I'm waiting for Nossar Gunleather to get a blue gun so he can make me one. He says he is on the waiting list. If you have never handled one of his holsters, you wouldn't beleive it. I have no idea how he makes it so thin, and it comes boned perfect, and pre-contoured. I just got a Shell Cordovan IWB-III with shark skin trim for my Ed Brown 5" 1911. I am hoping to get the same holster made for the R9S, but it is going to be a long time. He still needs to get the blue gun, then I have to wait my turn. Some things are worth it!! Thanks for the welcome guys, and I will be sure to post the pics when I get them.
-
I did not know they made a R9 Bluegun. I will have to get me one of those.
-
Let's see a pic of the holster he made you for the 1911. ;D

Looks like I found what I was looking for. Corrrey, thanks for the quick reply. This forum is great. I got the R9S on order from the irishguard, yankees takedown tool on order, and a holster from corrrey on the way. All within a couple days. I will figure out how to post pics, and get you that picture of the holster from Nossar. Thanks agian.

NV. Welcome to the Forum. Congrats on the purchase of the R9S. You're going to like the little wonder, for sure. Looking forward to those holster pictures. Again, welcome and post often.

I need one too, or, Corey, you can get you and your boys making one out of wood.
-
I too love blue guns, and have many. Altho, I do have several stainless as well. ;) HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!! Gene

NV_shooter, I forgot to welcome you to the best gun forum on the internet and the best pocket pistol made. Post often, and enjoy our company as much as we'll enjoy your's. Gene

Thanks for all the welcomes, if someone could point me to a thread that explains how to post pictures, I would appreciate it. I looked it up under the search feature, but didn't find anything. Also, it's hard to pick uo sarcasm over type, but, I wanted to clarify by "blue gun" I meant gun mold for the holster. I think you guys already knew that. Thanks!

I use Photobucket, and have not tried any other method.
Load the pics into photobucket, click on IMG Code, copy it and paste the code in your post and the picture will be here.
If there is anything you need for the R9, Cory is the man to contact, if he doesn't have it, he probably knows were you can get it ;D

NV, I don't think that anyone was being sarcastic with you. We were just having fun with a new friend. Happy 4th!! Gene

I agree with Gene; congeniality is an implicit and inextricable characteristic of this forum.

NV,
If you use a photo hosting site like photobucket, it makes it easier to post pictures to the forum.
Once your pics are loaded there, you will see below each picture an "IMG CODE" that you can copy/paste into the dialogue box here:
Highlight the line with the code included, right click to reveal the copy function
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v710/isa4031/photobucket.jpg)
it will look like the highlighted section below when you paste it into the text box in the message box of the forum:

so the finished post will include the desired pic:

I hope that helps!

AND, I forgot to mention - in case someone else hasn't already given him a plug, one of the best holster makers is a member of this forum too, Robert Locke: mecopocketholsters.com (http://mecopocketholsters.com/)
I have one of his pocket holsters for a Seecamp and an IWB for my R9

He made this one for my husband:
You can't tell from these angles, but they are both lined & very thin. His workmanship is perfect. I've seen him throw away an almost perfect holster - after spending hours in constructing it - just becuase it didn't meet his high standard for quality.
He is also using more exotic leathers, shark, elephant, crocodile & alligator. Mine posted above is a tejas lizard, my husband's is crocodile. They are beautiful and sturdy at the same time.

Oh, I wasn't taking offense. I just wasn't sure if you meant the blue gun was a blue r9s or a mold.

NV_Shooter,
Welcome to the forum..
We tend to go "off topic"on the threads sometimes, the old thread drift!!
But we mean no harm!!
I concur that the free Photobucket account is the way to go,and very easy to use..
Here is my ROAR-BAW picture!!

Once again-welcome!!

I second the plug for MECO. Robert makes a awsome holster. I have a IWB in shark that is my favorite non pocket R9 rig.
-
His work does look real nice. I think you might have cost me some money!! That crocodile pocket holster looks great! I will get on photobucket here in a minute, and post you guys a picture of my 1911 Holster by Nossar.
-
Ok here it is. This is the first shell cordovan leather holster I have owned. I have read alot of mis-information from people saying it is too pliable to make a holster, and that it should be used with a base of some other hide. I found that to be untrue. This holster is super thin, super ridgid and the grain of the leather is different from hide. Very unique material, I would love another like it for my R9S! Alex Nossar is a true craftsman, and a high quality person to deal with. His work and customer service have made me a customer for life. This is the first holster of his I have purchased, but it will not be my last.

Brenden, love that pic! Nice blues too!!!!
-
NV. Excellent looking holster. Nice, for sure.
-
Shell cordovan always worked for shoes, too. It always strikes me that there is such a pronounced difference in the R9 mag release from earlier models to later models.
-
Brenden. Definitely a great looking trio, and as Corey says, nice blues. :)
-
NV,
Very nice looking holster, workmanship looks excellent. We will be expecting for more photos now that you know how to post them, cars, boats, pets anything at all, we all like pics here. ;D

Yeah, I knew what you meant, and I'd love to have a Blue gun in a Seecamp and a R9.
Congratulations on your new R9, it is getting closer.
