The forum was down with server issues for about a week. Fixed now... Sorry about that.
Also having issues with the forum email account that have not been fixed, so please use duane@daiker.net for now if you need me.
Thanks! Hope you all are celebrating the Memorial Day weekend.

Have a great weekend! Went to Mazzaro's yesterday to stock up. I love that market!
-
Thanks for keeping this place alive. Got a bit worried, LOL.
Have a save and joyful Memorial Day.

Missed coming here, was relieved to see it back on online!
Are we to a point again Duane where some of us regulars could pitch in towards hosting costs? It seems like just yesterday we did that, but it was probably ten years ago in reality if I had to guess. I know you probably wouldn't ask, but I wanted to offer. I appreciate the time and effort that you and TechGuy put into keeping things running behind the scenes.

I thought I lost a bunch of my friends!
-
I checked in ALOT and was worried the forum was gone. I'm SO thankful it's back!!!!!
I'm also in to donate to the forum cause. What can we do Duane?
-
So, here is the deal as it stands...
I pay for the domain name registration, which is only about $25 per year. TechGuy hosts the forum on his personal server, and does not charge me per se. He is a long time (since middle school) friend, a veteran Army chopper pilot, and a computer geek. I am not sure what it would cost me if I had to pay for a server, but I am guessing maybe $50 a month?
So, traditionally, I have sent him most of the money collected to keep him motivated to not cut me off! ;)
He keeps telling me that the forum software has become outdated, and is not being updated. We talked about moving to a different system, but we are understandably worried about a loss of content in the process. So we keep thinking -- if it's not broke, don't fix it yet. The forum has some issues (like hanging up when posting), but it remains workable.
So... if anyone is inclined to send some money to keep Tech Guy (Steve) on board, I am happy to pass it along.
I can't promise we will still be here in 10 years, but I hope so. We will make all reasonable efforts to keep the community alive!

Hello Duane,
I tried to PayPal, but the service doesn’t recognize Duane-at-daiker.net.
They do recognize: mailto:duane@daiker.net.
What is best on PayPal?

Hey Chris -- it is as you said with the @ symbol -- I just write it with the "at" to avoid web-crawlers scraping my address! ;)
At this point I probably can't get any more spam anyway!

Thanks!

Let me know if it went through.
Thank you!

Yes! Very generous, Chris. Thank you very much.
-
The amounts collected should put a very nice guilt trip on Tech Guy to keep us going for the foreseeable future.
Thanks, all!
